A rant...

OMG TODAY!
Ya know..I've been seeing this shit around..People selling off adoptable and selling characters..
I don't...fucking understand HOW they get away with it and WHY people are stupid enough to do it.
I know I have some people watching me that have either made them and/or sold them..Maybe I just don't get it..
See..I made Mitsi all myself, thought her up, developed her, and the thought of paying someone for their character or some random base Photochop'd doodle with different designs just seems to defeat the point here. I am going to have to say it bugs me almost as much as people with Sonicfurs. It screams to me that you lack imagination and can't think of the simplest of ideas.
Oh, for those of you interested, I am selling Mitsi for 200 USD.
But I will still get art of her done, use the name, and play her on SL...but you own her, and her idea.
Okay?
Okay <3

Did anyone buy yer lil durgun or are ya keeping her for now?
ALSO HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
The best way I had it explained to me is that you're less just paying to use someone else's character, more purchasing the "rights" to use all the artwork of that character and to be the "owner" of the character itself. That would, in theory, allow you to commission new artwork of said character with whatever kinks you want without needing to consult the original creator of the character to get their consent.
I say that stuff in quotes because it's not like there's any formalized documentation or process with all that stuff. It's not like if the original artist decided they were still going to use the character that the person who bought it could really do much about it except complain they didn't honor their agreement. It also doesn't stop people from just using the art and characters anyway, as anyone who's been on F-list or Twitter can tell you.
