Just got back from the hospital this evening. As it turns out, she's got some hairline fractures in her sacrum, which the doctor says have been there "for a while", as well as some swelling of the bone. Which I didn't even know was possible! The fractures are apparently the result of, basically, osteoporosis, and the physical therapy she was doing for her hip surgery aggravated the situation. So it's nothing life threatening or anything like that, but it's most likely going to take a very long time to heal and if things don't go smoothly she may face another surgery.
On the bright side, the physician who is taking care of her is the same one who did her hip surgery, and he's damned good. It's a relief to know just what's going on, too.
As those who have followed me for a while know, I don't normally talk much about family issues, but I just didn't want those who are close to me to have to worry too much. I'm going to be spending a good chunk of my time at the hospital, once again, and they're going to send her to a rehab hospital after she's done at the regular one, so I might not be around much for some time to come, depending on how things go. But things are a little better than I'd feared at first.
Thanks to everyone who commented on my last journal. You guys are awesome.

Take all the time you need to be with your family and take care of your mom, darling, and know that you and your mom have my best wishes and lots of good vibes =^_^=
*Hugs* Thank you so much for the good wishes, too. They really do mean a lot.
*huggles softly*
You're very welcome, darling, and I really truly hope that this whole situation will be coming to a good end soon
I won't be completely MIA. I'll still be around in the evenings, and some in the mornings. Dad and I are taking turns sitting with her, which is helpful for all of us. But thank you. I really do appreciate the sentiments, and it helps a lot to know I have people here who care for me.
Bring a few good books and a comfy pillow to stay up with your mother and I'm sure the time will pass right by.
My mother send her love, too, by the way! We're both keeping you both in thoughts and prayers.
The good thing is, if she does have to do the surgery, it can be done with minimally invasive techniques. Just a small incision that the physician said would require only a single stitch. Of course, the tricky part is that where they'd have to put the screws is somewhere with a lot of nerves, which increases the risk of nerve damage. But we're still only on "might have to" rather than "definitely will", which I'm taking as a good sign.
