We FINALLY hammered out Burden In My Hand by Soundgarden which is an easy song to play, but for some reason we all had different ideas for how the song was laid out. It took three weeks, but we're actually able to play that one now.
Derrick left his camera at home; therefore, there is no video, but we did have a crowd come and watch us play. It was pretty neat . It was a small group of about 12 people whom mostly was Derrick's family. He also sits behind a drum kit and doesn't contribute a whole lot.
Pachua had a crazy awesome idea for the King of the Road cover. If you're familiar with the song, the music stops several times throughout. To make the song not as androgynous, every time we stop we play the next segment faster. The song ends on a very punk rock feel with quarter note ticks, punching bass and simplistic but quick chord progressions. It's become a favorite of the group to play with.
Amsu (The Jackal) has pulled off some of the wildest screaming pinches on the coolest points of any one song in the set. For those of you coming to see the show, be prepared to lose a frequency in your hearing. It makes every song go from whiney alternative to some of the coolest bleeding metal hybrids.
Theron has really developed his vocal range in the best way. His guttural growls and insane screams have become some of the most iconic points of any cover we're doing which really throws individuality into doing rather well known songs. Of course, we're not forgetting the completely distinctive voice that he has which has given the band a much more full sound.
It is safe to say that if it wasn't for Theron's intellectual input and song writing, Pachua's quick learning of songs and covers, Amsu's raw skill and imaginative cover style , and Derrick's... hmm... equipment... A Dozen Dead Furs would have never exsisted/not been nearly as good. We really have specific elements that we bring to the band that really makes us.
Thank you to everyone that is watching, listening, and faving!
