Job Hunting Sux

Bah, I hate job hunting. There's nothing here in canada. If you've got any leads on 3d animator/modeller positions I'm always open. I also do UI desing, compositing, editing, VFX, flash animation, graphic design and art (of course) :D
Might as well use every avenue I've got.
I'm not hard up for money, I just need a place of employ so I can move out. Hard to work on furry art when I'm at home you see :P

2. Fine sutible hunting grounds. You might cheack with the job postings in your local or bnational paper, or even look around for websites of companies near you. They might post avaiable positions on those, though you might think twice if they list Doggie style.
3. Be patient. Remeber those three years of Sheep shearing? Now might be the time to find your clippers.
Virtually EVERYONE does his/her time doing the crappy intern thing. Use this time to build connections and express a sincere desire to join the production /visual development / 3D modeling / compositing team (whichever applies). 3D modeling and compositing positions are the easiest to snag.
Most likely, you will NOT be paid, but your hours will probably be very flexible to accomidate a real job, so don't despair. Consider this as an extention of your college education.
ASK for a TEST. work on it, mother it, and show the studio workers to get input. This will allow the team members to "invest" their time into you. Turn it in when you think you got it.
DO NOT BE A DICK!!! No studio will VERY RARELY (if never) hire talent if that person is a pompous douche. Working well with others is a SUBSTANTIAL portion of their decision making process.
Some companies have a trial period, so bust your ass during this period.
Your luck increases exponentially if the company is facing a crunch (happens quite often actually)
So: the first thing you should do is contact a local studio, ask for the receptionist, and explain that you're a student and would like to inquire for an internship.
Actually, let me take a step back, if you dont already live where the work can be found, pack your stuff, and start looking for an apartment. Locals get priority in jobs.
Good luck, it's going to be rough.
dont let it bring you down tho!!
keep on lookin ur bound 2 find sumtin soon ^_^
wish u all da best ^_^
