Comission Work?

I've been considering commission work since it is always nice to be productive and all.
Sadly I have no idea where one would start. lawl

I'd suggest you start figuring out what you're comfortable doing [sketches only, or are you okay with colouring?]. Also, what do you think are your limitations: can you draw females, are you okay doing yiff work, etc.?
Finally, do tell us how much you're planning on asking for - I wouldn't mind asking for a small commish or two, as it's that time of the year for me to shop around :D
First, decide what isthe most amount of work you're willing to do. A full color comic of several pages is most that I have seen. That's probably too much to offer but if you think you can do it, put it out there because someone might pay good money for it. A better limit would be full color (+ ink) art of several characters. But that can be very time consuming depending on how demanding you clients are (even though, by my philosophy, they shouldn't demand at all). Think about starting small: maybe offer just sketches (for a reasonable price) to get a feel for commissions and how quickly you can do them. Once you do that, stop offering sketches because people expect them cheap, and upgrade to inks, again just a few or maybe one. When you think you know your estimated turnaround for a linework (inked), realize that this is not accurate. Double that time taken.
Then think about how much money you want. Do you want weekly income? Monthly? Lump sums occasionally? If you want steady commission money, realise that this means serious time investments. If you take a commission every week but you don't finish them steadily, they'll mount up and the next thing you know you're broke AND stressed! If you...
Aw heck, I have no idea what I'm talking about.
