Here in Oklahoma, we are still trucking along to my knowledge... Its hits home though and my thoughts and prayers go out to all of our brothers and sisters in DFD! I watched a few videos last night, there was an Paramedic unit that had a journalist follow the, National average, 8 mins, DFD Paramedic units average response time? 20 minutes due to lack of man power, sad, just sad.....

its sad to hear those words being said wow im just speechless

They'll cut spending on fire protection while giving themselves pay raises. Those units still in service will have to work much harder to provide the same level of protection. Time to get the dumbasses out of government at all levels.

Ugh... My dept has actually been adding new units and stations recently, but we have integrated fire/ems and we charge if they want to take our bus to the hospital, so I suppose in that way, we're doing well enough...

I can understand why there are so many FD's going OOS especially if they don't have regular funding (aside from taxes) because intead of integrating EMS, they work combind events, so the EMS service gets all they money..

Really does suck though, you'd think there'd be plenty of people who'd want to volunteer to be a FF....
