As long as the sound is pure, I like it. No sound magnifier or enhancers make a thing sound good. Its not about looks its whats on the inside that counts
My Tahoe had a nice throaty growl to her when I would punch it. Between the engine roaring, lights flashing and the siren blaring it was enough to give me a hard on... Gettin a 'lil chubby now just reminiscing about it
My cousin has a v8 Tahoe but never jams the accelerator. Hesays he is trying to save gas x3...but I've got to csay...Chevy Tahoe, and the Malibu are the only two I have strong respect for...they are well proven and even reliable.
I have a 1995 BMW 540i. 4.0L DOHC V8 with 282HP and 295 ft/lb of torque, and it's one of the handful out there with a proper 6-speed manual. :) . Not quite as much of a handling monster as the contemporary M5, but it's just about as quick in straight-line acceleration.
That said I'm still a huge Honda/Acura fan. I was a die-hard Toyota fanboy until I ended up with my '88 Accord. It's hard to find a car company whose entire lineup is built around 'fun to drive.' After that Accord and several Legends I'm still convinced they're one of the most innovative, driver experience-oriented, reliable marques on the planet. That and I like their PR people. A forum buddy of mine put 500K on his '94 Legend. Acura had him hit 500K at their corporate headquarters and gave him a new ILX to review. Now that's recognizing their fans. :)
Definitely a great company to get behind. I've already decided my next 'newer' car is going to be an '05+ Acura RL. I spent a bit of time in one and really enjoyed the fact that you can operate just about everything inside the car by voice commands. I haven't really seen that innovation(at least to that extent) in most other cars.
My friend's blog is here: http://drivetofive.wordpress.com/ Definitely a good read to get into. About 400K of that Legend's mileage he put on himself.
Though to be fair I'm just teasing. Ar's are fine. I'd never get one.
