I recently bit the bullet and ordered a new os (10.6.8) from Apple's Online Store, as well as some RAM to upgrade my humble silver Imac. Got the OS disc in the mail just fine, and installed it myself, which yes, is a HUGE deal. And then I waited for the RAM. And waited. And waited. Finally checked my email, and there is a BUNCH of messages from Apple Online saying that my packages was REFUSED? And then RETURNED? I went ahead and messaged them, that NO ONE over here except ME was authorized to do that. And I get an email response claiming that someone PHONED them and cancelled the order. Well, as it stands now, I fired back that unless the phone number was either of two that I can actually use, there's NO (censored) WAY that that could happen. As well, with my documented psychological issues, even being on the PHONE is a pain n the ass for me. I am waiting to hear back to see what numbers were used in the cancellation. If there aren't any, then oh lordy, Apple is in for a SERIOUS WORLD OF HURT. But as of right now, I am FUMING MAD enough to spit fire, and actually go outside and interact with people and socialize. >.<! I won't, but that's just how pissed off I am. And for those who know me, that's...pretty damned pissed. I mean, what is the benefit of canceling that order? It's not like it's going to a new address or anything...just returned to the warehouse...UGH. My brain hurts.
(EDIT) Turns out, the Mac Store didn't HAVE the RAM chips necessary for my older macintosh...so they themselves cancelled the order...after it was shipped to damn near my next door neighbors, if tracking is to be believed...which tells me that Fed-Ex, Macintosh, the USPS, all of these jokers need to get their heads out of their asses and figure this noise out BEFORE angry people like me get all confused and pissed off. BUT.
Apples online helpers are seriously cool people who I can actually TALK to. Or at least this person was. I was actually at ease talkin' to them. They talked me through everything, step by step, and explained it all. And even pointed me to Crucial.com which had the chips I needed...at a less expensive price...with cheaper and FASTER shipping...so tomorrow. I should have my RAM. :) YAY!!!!

...the world is going wrong for so many people recently, in a wide variety of ways. LOTS of bad news heard in the last week or two, but this will end up being one of the bright spots! Glad to hear it!
