Have you had a whole lot of experience as engie? I haven't been able to get to play a whole lot, but it's fun to me so far... What's your take on it overall? D:

engie is utility out the ass
kinda a jack of all trades, lots of CC and tools not enough damage or at least in a pvp aspect, the class was changing a lot between events so could be different now.
fairly hard to PvE with due to lack of damage and being fairly squishy but lots of fun things you can do with them.

Flamethrowers and bombs and grenades and turrets and bacon strips and bacon strips.

I played one up to level 30 and my experience with it was a bit of a mixed bag. I love the utility of the engineer. There's a lot of flexibility with the class (as there probably is with all of them) but it felt like the engineer just had stronger utility skills than most other classes. Their weapon abilities is where I started to get bored mainly because you cannot swap weapons like most classes and you only really have access to 4 weapons (pistol main/offhand, shield, and rifle) It feels rather limiting. I wouldn't say that the damage output is less than any other ranged class, however. Engineers just don't typically deal massive direct damage. Bombs do a heck of a lot of damage and apply conditions, and pistols have a number of damaging conditions.

I would agree that the engineer does not have the best burst damage in pvp.. but they can be built to have good survivability, support and control with steady, sustained damage.

I'd say all the classes are at least worth looking into. Engineer just struck a unique vibe with me and guns are cool. The flamethrower kit is also badass. Ultimately I think everyone has different preferences on what they like as a playstyle and you need to just fiddle with the different classes to see how they work.

Yeah, guardian and engineer interested me the most on play. Most of the others just felt off, I think I'll go guardian because I like the damage and the survivability x3

Im tempted to do the same. Though I may play engineer as an alt.

I'm definitely gonna make an engie alt, because I enjoyed how easy it was to control enemies and really inflict a lot of condition damage. But guardians just felt so right, because DANG they're tough!

Guardians don't have pets - Do you mean spirit weapons? :P They're really not that bad, they only last like 15 seconds

Depends what server you plan on going to or what people you want to play with! I'm sure there are a few already planned.

Asura Elemetntalist, Charr Engineer, Norn Ranger, Human Thief, and a Sylvari Necromancer. That's my line up. How much will I play each? Well, I love the Engineer class a lot, and Ranger is a tie with the Elementalist not far behind them. Thief and Necro are cool and fun, but not as much for me because they play different than I'm used to. But I'll be playing. Still trying to find a list of servers. Got a friend (non-fur) from work who will be playing, too, and he wants to join my guild.
