Mostly to trclw, I didn't really rally anyone, a few people came to me about it. His drawing is far too similar to just be a coincidence, BUT if he had put a simple "Used this for reference [link]" or "saw this [link] and thought of a dragon" or whatever, I would have been just fine with it. But instead, when I mention it, he deletes the comment and blocks me from posting any more comments.
And if it is just a crazy coincidence, then I apologize, especially to the artist. Though I do think he could have handled this a lot better than he did. If someone accused me of stealing or tracing, I would talk to the original artist and at least show them the psd file and how I did my version of the drawing.
And on a side note, using his zoom in view, you can actually see that parts of my drawing are still there http://i.imgur.com/NDmyW.jpg

Google that person username with art thief and you get DA journals with him being a thief.
I think we are done now.
Aslong that person doesn't re(multi by alot)upload it or actually gets permant banned to prevent future art thief.
-I understand the daily insults/copy claims, I would get them all the time when I was on DA getting the same attention you say he gets, and I understand how annoying it can get.
-People are jumping on it for good reason, like I said, a lot of things are almost exactly the same.
-Resolution/the teeth/textures/additional glow/it being in "HD", all of that doesn't matter. As someone who knows photoshop, it's very easy to enlarge, sharpen, and draw over a different drawing. I used to do it with my older drawings to "update" them and put them in newer drawings. Not hard at all.
-Apparently he's used references in a few other pictures, so it wouldn't surprise me if he used mine and just didn't want to link to this site.
-And about the "squiggles and brush strokes", it's nearly impossible for brush strokes to be in the same spot, with the same direction. It probably has the same chance as dumping multicolored jelly beans into a bowl, taking a picture, taking the beans out and re-dumping 'em, then taking another picture and having it look exactly like the first. You'd have to try pretty hard to get it to look the same.
Still though, I can't ignore the similarities. If he just didn't want to link to this site, I can understand, but there are plenty of image hosting sites that would let him show his reference without linking back here. If he still has the psd file with the layers intact, then maybe I could look at that?
And if it is true that he just didn't want to link back here 'cause of this site, then tell him to get new fans.
Still, he really doesn't deserve the credit you give him, or the credit his "fans" give him.
But, it's something I'd expect from DA.
But I guess it's odd to just assume something like that, so I went with it.
