So far away, My mind flies to the moon.
Far, far away, I can see what happens soon.
And what's most important.

So I'm back home and I had a BLAST! The etsy party was awesome, though a bit chaotic, But still a lot of fun, I sold one necklace, that's a big deal for me lol, and I got a lot of great compliments on the few things I did bring up.
I went out to eat at L&B which I desperately missed! I haven't had pizza from them since I was little, lol! My sister knew 2 of the servers who worked there and they set us up with a WALL of icecream. LITERALLY! This thing was huge! And at least literally 12 scoops, DIVINE!
After we got settled in at my sister's place I went out to the car to grab my pillow and GUESS WHAT I FOUND!?!??!!?
BABY POSSUM! Triangle face giant rat hiding from some stray cats, lol
I scooped him up and we played with him for a minute. (more like really just pet him and took a thousand shots. I really would've kept him if my sister would let me bring him in the house. I was amazed how docile he was I'm sure he was just too young to fear humans. Well we let him go in a tree in my sister's yard and that was the best thing to ever happen to me while visiting Brooklyn, and also the most unexpected, ha!
The next day we went to a block party, I always love these :D Had a lot of fun roaming around and setting off fireworks I brought up. It was so nice to see the children's smiles when you light up those fountains, I don't understand why they're illegal...
Stayed at that party till 2, picked up some pizza at my ABSOLUTE fave place in allll of New York, Lenny and John's. It's on Flatbush Ave, if you're ever in the neighborhood, seriously. It's in my opinion the BEST pizza ever...
Day 3 we went to a nice street cafe that served UNLIMITED mimosas with brunch, I had some fantastic eggs florentine and a pitcher to myself XD We went to Coney Island to take in ALL the sights, and I mean SIGHTS. I always am so surprised with all the craziness that goes on there. I can't even describe this stuff haha.
Day 4 was pretty much just resting and laying around for the ride back home in the evening. I know it's the same time zone, and I didn't really alter my sleeping scheduled, but DAMN I felt so jetlagged. I'm all settled down now and I'm gonna get back to my normal relaxed life. I love visiting those big cities, but I'm not made for all that.
I really should've kept that possum, lol

FA+

You should have kept him! =D I found one once one of my cats has bought up (he was totally fine) and I wanted to keep him so bad. But a scream and "TAKE IT OUT!!!!" from my mom was a definite no to that thought, LoL.But I didn't want to leave it in her house while we were going ALL OVER THE PLACE, and New Yorkers are typically DEATHLY afraid of rodent type things :p
I was planning on buying one once I have a little extra spending money, But yea... totally could've saves myself $100 bucks :/
(Maybe I'll go roam around on trash nights at 3am and see what I can find :p
Where can you buy them??Really? I'm in Alabama and have never seen one in a shop. Q_QI know you can get skunks around here somewhere. That's awesome tho! I want a little possum. =3
The only thing about them would be the smell. XP
The main problem with finding breeders is many don't post it online, which can be good or bad. It filters out people buying for novelty, but serious, and possible GREAT parents have a hard time locating reputable breeders.
The worst thing about novelty buyers is they "use up" the animals youth, and it's VERY difficult to acclimate a mature animal into socializing well with people. You see a lot of ads online for adult animals, but the descriptions usually state that the animal is not good as a pet :/
Aw. =( That makes sense though to not list online where they can be easily found...I would love to have one. I love their little ears and noses.
Get two and stop by Alabama so I can get one! XDAs a note thought; O'Possums are still wild animals. As such they will act like wild animals. You as it's owner will take on the responsibility of owning a wild animal knowing full well it may attack you no matter how docile they may seem. So if you ever do decide to get one as a pet be very prepared for it to hiss or scratch or even bite you for little to no reason and understand you have no right to destroy/disown/or 'Release back to the wild' this very humanized, ill-equipped for nature pet you now own. You'll be responsible for it until it's dying day.
Wild pets are a huge responsibility not to be taken lightly.
I don't think uneducated individuals should raise orphaned animals either, but I've had a lot of experience with wild and "domesticated" pets of all sizes. I've even raised/released a few orphaned squirrels and rabbits.
