Perhaps it's just the natural direction things'd fall in after the 80s decided that manly men were on the 'out' list, and the metrosexual wagon was rolling in.

You and me both, and PS3 because I refuse to so much as touch a Shitbox. Loyalist and all. heh. Already up to 1300 kills and 560 deaths, give or take a few. Like six or seven max. Frickin' hate the Destroyer's weapon choices. Everything has a flight time, there's nothing solid like the Pathblaster or Neutron Assault Rifle. I could see the reasoning if Warcry was still available to the class but it's not, and to be honest with hover mode the constant splash damage weapons really make it unfair. You don't even have to hit someone, you just have to hit close to them. Though I will say giving the pump shotty a healing factor is really bad ass. Can't tell you how many times I put two to three people down that would have otherwise killed me if I chose another class.

As to the 80's .. that has little to do with it. It actually has more to do with a perverse imagination and the inability to think outside the box, rather then create something completely exotic they do what everyone does. Turn something rare, and dehabiliting to a degree, into a fetish. For the sake of not getting bombed with notes ranting about how it's not like that, when there's a mountain of evidence to say otherwise, I won't go into it further. I'm just tired of seeing it is all. Been tired of it for well over five years.

Oh I hated'em too, at first... but combining the two controlled-explosion weapons, namely (Can't remember their actual terms) the slow, traveling bomb and the cluster grenades; I've got a good enough sense of timing and range to murder even the most savvy cover-jockies with the former since it does splash damage, and the cluster grenades combined with specialized barriers carve a swathe through aggressive players. The latter can pop easily over Destroyer barriers due to its arc shot, too-- really monstrous weapons if you take the time for'em. (And you might as well, since Prime Mode's just waiting for you.)

Prime Mode is like Prestieging. Worthless. Ooo a shiny symbol next to your name. - snort - I didn't prime mode in WFC and I don't intend to in FoC. The Chaos Rift is easy to dodge, it has a distinctive sound. When you hear it you move to the side two times and whammo ... the cluster misses. The other weapon you're talking about, I forget it's name too, is a slow projectile. Even if you do manage to nail a wall behind their cover spot they have time to side step and light you up like a christmas tree. Well, I would anyway. I don't hide like a little bitch unless it's 2 on 1 or 3 on 1. Then I have no choice, like hell if I'm going to toe to toe with three people. If I don't have the healing shotty ... it's pointless.

As far as the Chaos Rift, that's why I use it at dead range, or-- as you would have 'walked into' in my description-- flushing people out from behind their barriers. And I've seen the shiny symbol beside people who couldn't have reached Prime Mode yet (due to lack of levels on certain classes) so I'm kind of curious to see what they intend for it this time around. I know you unlock a few building parts for customization if you're into that sort of thing, but there might be more to it... I'll get back to you when I've actually reached it. In the meantime, maxing out simply for certain weapon perks is motivation enough to reach 25. On note of the A-4 or whatever that floating bomb is, I always detonate midair... they sidestep to evade, I burst it while they're still in splash range. Waiting for it to hit a wall is pretty much a dead tactic due to the yawning rooms and hallways that usually follow up a good corner. I'd show you the magic if I could.
