why must break ups hurt the heart and the mind? why must people say they love you, then turn around and say they dont? that's my second break up in 6 months. i cant take it any more.

It hurts because love is literally a drug. Being around someone you are affectionate with causes dopamine and endorphins to be released in your brain, giving you a great feeling of euphoria. It also becomes addictive, when your source of happiness disappears then your body and mind go through withdrawals.
