Why I do not go digital/mural update
Greetings to all I cherish! First off,a big thank you to those who have watched me,and who faved my art since my last journal.I'm am very thrilled! The question has been raised several times over the last month,as to why I have not gone digital in this modern day of art postings.Quite simple, actually.I have been drawing on paper, canvas, wood, parchment, cardboard, and glass for 45 years, and the feel of the digital table was very uncomfortable to me.I've tried it on a friends PC,and it just was not for me.Sketch tablets can be taken anywhere, and I find it more relaxing to sit there with real paper and real media, such as a pen or pencil.I do a lot of sketches at work on my lunchbreak, with a sandwich in my right hand, and pencil in the other. *laughs* Yes,I'm a "lefty". Dont get me wrong, but I see some very beautiful work come from a tablet and there a lot of very talented ppl that use them. But I dont think it's for me.This fat old, clumsy bear is too up in years for new tricks. All I need is my scanner and a decent camera to get my art across.A lot of my work is straight from the PC,and some of it begins on paper, with PC touch-ups,of course.I cant afford those fancy scanners and cameras.but I hope my postings are good enough for you to see.
The mural update! Last weekend I started the first of the sketches with the furs I do not know to well, but The ones I do know well,no problem. The four by eight foot sheet of Lauan plywood has been primed, and is ready to go.Hopefully by the end of September, the actually painting gets underway.I predict 60 days of painting,at roughly 12 hours per week,as I have a fulltime job at Lowes,to keep up with too. there will be 22 characters, six if which are mine,in this project. The rest of you know who you are.In the end,I may see room for a few more if time warrants.I am doing this project like my past murals, just for fun.Furries, scaleys, and pachys, are all that I ever drew in the last 30 years anyways. Some landscapes and city scenes would be the only exception.
Again, thank you all for your support and making my FA page a happy one to visit.I'll ask around for the ppl that do,or do not want to be in this project, and post a final list by Oct.1st.That could mean last minute openings.
