This was just too good to keep to myself:
I went to the beach a little earlier & sat down on one of the benches listening to my MP3 player. This little girl, around age 12, came up to me & said "Hi." I turned off my player & said hi back. She asks me "What is it that you call that where you wear all black?" I said "goth."
& then she said something that was really heart-warming & incredible to hear:
"I think that goths can smile, too, just like everyone else. Just because they are more heart-broken than most other people doesn`t mean they should be treated differently."
*smiles* It was so heart-warming, to hear someone, even as young as that, having such wisdom & kind-heartedness. Even my friends who are accepting of me being goth have never said anything like that. I told it to mom & she said that she wonders what kind of life experience that little girl had to want to come up to a much older stranger & sya something like that.
It was so incredible. I couldn`t help but smile. & I had a hard time not smiling after that. She must have somehow knew I needed a kind & caring word, & knew what to say to make me feel better.
