Remakes

Why are remakes made by people that don't remember the original material? The most general thing being they want to change it and make it their own, but this is an ultimate form of half assing it. If you want to make something your own, oh I don't know, think of your own intellectual property. Other than that you should take the best parts and make them better, or at the least take the not so good and make it better while maintaining the good. Don't cut the good. Thats just stupid.
The show i'd like to focus on as an example is hunter x hunter which was a show I watched when I was a teen. This show had a lot of everything. It also had a few slow bits which I'd not care to watch if my lids were sealed open and fed Mozart though loudspeaker. For whatever reason they chose to drop interesting things and focus on things that were totally boring the first time round. The pacing is quicker so its less painful, but still did the new writers have blinders on when watching this show? Did I seriously see things as a teenager that they could not? I went and rewatched the original and yes all that stuff is there. They just colossally fucked it all up.
Even better is they screwed up the nen descriptions to make them more naruto like and then went and pasted them on the front of the show for like ten episodes. My respect for Mad house is constantly shaken by certain internal studios being on crack. The whole nen thing was different than naruto... and even came before it so why are they trying to emulate it?
Perhaps they were influenced by the later chapters that nobody should ever watch because they're stupid. As far as I'm concerned the show ended at ep 62 and Gon never finds his father.
This can be applied to shows not so nerdy as well. The new total recall for instance. Okay, everything is all smooth and all the bad robot/things look like their from portal. However, where is the question? The question I refer too is they weather Houser is real or not and does arny wake up in the recall chair having just experienced his total recall experience. I expected the remake to play on that doubt and make it even more confusing. It was handled a little poorly in the first and I expected the remake to turn me on my head and spin me like a top. It's like they did not realize why the first obtained cult status and made a remake.
I fully expect them to make a evil dead remake in the next five years. It will suck. I will be sad.
