How do you screw up a friendship? By not being openly honest with them from the start.
How do you hurt a friend? By having him find out something important from a source that isn't you.

How does this pertain to me? I hurt a dear friend because I didn't tell him what I should have right away. And what I should have told him, he heard from a third party when it should have been me.
