Update on Life and Writing

"Would you say 'Howl' has literary merit?" (Howl, 2010 (go and find out, watch the movie))
Life and writing are basically the same for me. I find my best work is when I write Life, and my best living comes from Writing in a journal and editing out the bad habits(no, smoking pot isn't one of them, smoking too much is, though). I made the change to start going to a gym at nights instead of lazying around, doing nothing at home- that's a bad habit. I tried it out, and it appears promising.
Even more promising, my entry in to Zsisron's contest and the book idea, The Wolf Mistress, I hope to still do. I've been yapping about that book so much, but last night I wrote ANOTHER Chapter One, probably the ... third or fourth retry at reanimating this series. This time, though, the writing bore fruit for thought. I did the random and outrageous idea of adding humans to the world, and everything just fell into place. I'm excited to say, that I have a whole notebook dedicated to the First Draft of chapter One. The first chapter has a lot to it, and I feel confident at filling it up, without even the pretty details of landscapes and structures and characters(I try to leave that for the rewrites, usually second or third rewrite- takes forever, too, lol) Once that's finished, I'll be able to tell if The Wolf Mistress will actually come about as a story. There are some Very monumental points later in the story, including a mysterious connection of the human race's origins, and diabolical histories covering up genocides and species segregation. I really like where all the elements of this story are at, and I feel confident that it can now bloom into something really worth reading, even more so, writing.
For submissions on FurAffinity, I have several stories in the works, still. Some are better than others. School won't make this easy for me, but I will try to add more to my Gallery and let my readers enjoy some stories from me- as best and often as I can.
Stories I'd like to see before the end of Fall: one more chapter to Where Minds Lay, a chapter in School Spirit, the second and final part of Taking Calls(does anyone remember that? Lol), the story I wrote a while ago named Hiss featuring Toth, Saravok's character.
That's the Update. Have a wonderful day, all.

And onto the actual reply, I'm glad that you're getting some exercise Howl. Perhaps I should take up biking on the weekends, while I can...
And I'm glad that you're getting some progress on your writing too; I love it when I add one small detail in a story, and it just blossoms into this thick, rich detail that just ingrains itself into the piece. It's a real sense of discovery, isn't it? Can't wait to see your other stories too - they're always so interesting, with unusual ideas that really do need to get more attention.
And Toth shall make a return! XD Yes!
It had blossomed, too, the ideas for my (hopefully) book idea. I've dedicated a seventy page spiral notebook to the first chapter, so to give me this mental "space" open for as much as I can dish out for a First Chapter-first Draft. And it's my voice, my views and ideas on the subjects that I like to challenge my mind with, society, psychology, and all the juicy nuggets people get passionate for and are affected by. And at the same time, Jerh, my main character fox, still keeps his own personality in tact, separate from mine and isn't pressured by all of me. He still gets to be the protagonists and not an impersonator of myself. It's lovely, and it just gets me excited for writing- a rare thing that helps me say that writing for so many years Has been worth it. :3
I've tried doing that method, but...eh, the fact that I can make some change that affects all of what I wrote before just makes it not worth it to me. Just wastes paper and ink. Those kinds of books are more for ideas now than actual writing in.
I'm glad that you've managed to find a way to make a character share your views without being too much of an author avatar. It's quite refreshing to see that nowadays.
