Not just pooltoys! I could count the number of balloon lovers in this fandom on one hand (that I knew of). In the last two years or so, suddenly it's grown to easily a few dozen that I know personally, and I meet more every week!

I always felt like the odd man out, being the only pooltoy in a muck "full" of balloonies. There weren't all that many balloons, either, of course, but I recall Furrymuck had something like 10-15 that I knew of, way back then.

I didn't know that many balloonies/pooltoys on Furrymuck, but then again I was worried about what people would think so I didn't take the ball and run with it. Finally, I decided that I didn't care what othe rpeople though and decided to become a full-time squeaky-toy :0)

Yes, I've noticed that too :) I think perhaps it's a matter of seeing other folks with the same interest in balloons and not being ashamed of it or keeping it hidden. I've tried to encourage fellow pooltoys and balloonatics to join the party and many of them have ;) It really makes me happy to have a nice big group of folks with common interests.

I was into balloons a lot earlier than I was pooltoys (pre-internet, even) although pooltoys go back a long ways too. I've always loved the look of big shiny/puffy/colorful things and I'm happy to see others are enjoying these too :)

It was weird lobo before all of this .. before FA and before browsers like Firefox and IE and operating systems like Windows 7 and XP there was simply .. DOS. And even back then we could find pool toy / balloonies on Furry muck and on Cerine's inflatable archive. And there were people that were curious about the balloon fetish back then and I introduced them to it and then Morphy came along and everything just kinda blew up from there (obvious pun ;)

But yeah it seems like there's more and that's a GOOD thing. :)

Well, certainly FA has helped a lot :) I ran out of squeaky art on Cerine's site there seemed to be a lull for awhile but after FA came about, it began to pop up (no pun intended) here and there and now I have a nice long lists of artists to watch and commission. I know a lot of good people who are into toys and/or balloons and happily it seems like people are a lot less afraid to admit that they like squeaky things and balloons these days. Yep, it's a good thing! ^__^

More like not exposed to it until recently. Totally dig it now!

Well, you know, that's the other thing....before the squeaky revolution (or whatever you want to call it), it was hard to find anything about squeaky stuff....and even harder to find furry stuff...so it's awesome to see it coming together and watching others enjoy it too!

I seem to have a steady stream of "convertees" that I've succeeded in turning into pooltoys...or at least part time ones. Most of the time, they even ask me to TF them first! But yeah...any rabid ones, I'll send your way! ;)

Sadly my artwork is not so good to submit. I guess if I set aside an hour or two each day I can hone my skills, then I might be able to share stuff. But seeing some of the awesome work on here I'm gonna have to be at this for years!!! LOL

Well, I tried drawing for the longest time, but I just don't have the time or ambition to practice. It used to frustrate me so, but I finally decided my time would be better spent elsewhere...happily though, I've found quite a few awesome artists who draw excellent inflatables, and even ones that don't normally draw toys and squeakies seem to be interested in trying it. If you have the time, though, keep with it! I really really really wish I'd found the fandom a long time ago when I was in college, but there was a severe lack of Internet in those days. But oh...so much time I wasted on watching TV when there was nothing to do..if only I'd spent that time drawing or doing something furry related. But, better late than never, I guess.

I'm like you, I knew about the fandom but never got into it right away as I've only had my fursona for a short time as you can read up on all of that on my page.

Oh noes, I didn't know you were colorblind! A little word of encouragement, I had a friend back in high-school who was colorblind but a fantastic artist! His career he wanted to get into was graphic designing but his colorblindness kept him from that so he went and started drawing designs on plane white tee shirts for his friends, which he enjoyed doing.

He made me a really cool oldschool Doctor Who shirt just by using a simple black fabric marker. I think he also kept a Sketchbook full of his works as well. So even if you are colorblind but have got the talent to draw don't let that stop you in the least.

Hopefully those words of encouragement help kindled something? ^^

Hehe it like anything it a crazy now like with taurs to been seeing a lot more now even squeaky ones and also well crinkle furs to they all popping up all over now

Maybe people got tired of being just ordinary furries? I had a furry form at first (well, and still do) but I find it a lot easier to have fun when you can defy the laws of physics and all that. As a regular anthro furry, you still have to play by a certain set of rules. As a squeaky, you can get away with a lot more (as well as having some fetish interest as well). But it makes sense;...people came together as a general group of "furries" but eventually people spread out into their niches, so I think that's a natural progression :)

Squeakies are always fun! I've pondered having an alternate version of Skamper as a pooltoy skunk. :P

I have an inflatable sona...but no art. Just not wealthy enough to afford any right now...especially on a fursuit budget!! x3

That's probably the only advantage to being a greymuzzle....at least I have a little bit of money laying around occasionally for commissions. Don't worry, though, you'll get there. It didn't even occur to me to post any commissioned artwork until a few years ago, and now I will admit I have a bit of an addiction ;) But there are worse addictions!
