Get to Know Me Meme. :3
For anyone who is curious to learn more about me. <3
1. Who are you?
~A young female (past her teen years!) who is on the shorter side. Kind, compassionate, honest, and open-minded. I worry a lot about those I care about and can get very protective of the relationships I have with people.
2. What are the 3 most important things everyone should know about you?
~I get blindingly furious at undeserved disrespect. I will do everything in my power to make those I love happy. I do not like overly large egos (modesty and humility are wonderful traits).
3. When you aren't doing memes like this one what are you doing?
~Facebooking, tweeting, tumbling, occasionally making art, watching various shows and movies, hanging out with friends, cleaning house, cooking, daydreaming, sleeping, and (currently) waiting to start my new job and studying for my HAM Radio license.
4. List your classes in school from the ones you like the most to the ones you like the least (or if you are out of school, think of the classes you did like and didn't like at the time).
~Not sure if this counts college as well, but any art classes are my favorite. Especially Print-making. I also liked my Animal Science classes and Anatomy&Physiology class in high school. I loved my German classes in high school, and my English class was decent. I hated Chemistry, Physical Education, and Math. As well as the majority of my History and World Civ. classes, mainly because most of it required memorization and mathematic skills, which I lack both of greatly.
5. What is your biggest goal for this year?
~Succeed in my new job so I can get to FC2013 (only my second con ever! :D)
6. Where do you want to be in 5 years?
~Comfortable in a wonderful job (probably this one I'm about to start), with a nice house, car, and maybe a pet or two. It sounds a little dumb, since I can't actually see myself getting married, but in five years, I hope to at least be engaged.
7. What stage of life are you in right now?
~Definitely transitional. I sort of jumped into the real world before being totally prepared, and on top of that, I moved to California from my hometown in Kentucky as my first step into the real world. It's been very difficult adjusting to living on my own, and I'm still having a little trouble getting on my feet, but thanks to the support and patience of my lovely boyfriend, I hope to get settled soon.
8. Are you more child-like or childish?
~That's a difficult question to answer. I'm a bad judge of my own character in such ways. Probably both, but at the same time, I'm often told that I'm wise far beyond my years due to the sort of obstacles I've had to push through on my own in my my thus far.
9. What is the last thing you said out loud?
~Does singing out loud to the Yu Yu Hakusho opening song count? o.o It's just so catchy. If not, I was telling the bf's cat to shut up and leave me alone because it isn't time to feed his fat ass yet.
10. What song comes closest to how you feel about your life right now?
~Oh... Well, I'm honestly not too sure... I suppose my best choice off the top of my head is Foxy Shazam's "Oh Lord". It's such a powerful song, and I turn to it quite often in the past few months to help keep me moving forward through my homesickness and set-backs that I've been battling since getting out of Kentucky.
11. Have you ever taken martial arts classes?
~No, but I've always wanted to, and still do.
12. Does your life tend to get better or worse or does it just stay the same?
~I have terrible spells of what I like to think of as bad luck, where absolutely nothing goes right and it seems that I can't do anything without negative outcome, then it goes neutral for a short while, then gets way better and things brighten in at least one aspect. Typically it lasts about as long as the median of the neutral and bad phases before it all goes bad again. And continues in that circle. I hope to change that soon, if it isn't changing already.
13. Does time really heal all wounds?
~There are some wounds that can never heal, no matter how hard you try. But over time, the pain will dull to more bearable intensity... That, or you just learn to handle it better.
14. How do you handle a rainy day?
~Unfortunately, California doesn't have near as many rainy days as Kentucky. But I enjoy rain and storms quite thoroughly. Either read, nap, or play out in the rain. Or gaming is always an option as well. I also like just sitting and watching the rain and talking to people about various things.
15. Which is worse...losing your luggage or having to sort out tangled holiday lights?
~I'm a pro at untangling things like lights and rope and cords. I've also been without my luggage due to a fluke with the airline and another time due to the car with my luggage inside being towed. It by far is much less fun. I was miserable because I had no clothes, no toothbrush, no shampoo or soap, and no laptop.
16. How is (or was) your relationship with your parents?
~I never knew my biological father. My relationship with my mother is... strange, but very strong. She and I have always had more of a sister-like bond, and occasionally I've been more the parent to her than she has to me.
17. Do you tend to be aware of what is going on around you?
~Depends on what it is. I tend to pick up on turmoil between people fairly quickly if I spend valid time with them. However, the way people think of me, and how they feel about me is normally very hard for me to pick up on. Typically, I'll ask someone about it, or they flat out tell me themselves.
18. What is the truest thing that you know?
~Death is inevitable.
19. What did you want to be when you grew up?
~I've wanted to be a vet since before I can remember. Even before I knew the term was 'veterinarian', I wanted to be an 'animal doctor'. I'm not sure what made me change my major to art, because something inside me still wants to be a vet, but I think part of it was the fact that I'm so soft-hearted that I think it would bother me to no end if I couldn't save an animal's life.
20. Have you ever been given a second chance?
~In what sense? I suppose you would really have to ask the people I've done wrong by, if there are any. I try to do as right as possible by all parties involved. I, however, typically do not give second or third chances, so if I give you one, you are truly a special person to me.
21. Are you more of a giver or a taker?
~I am more of a giver hands-down. I know what I need, and I know my priorities. If I have what I need, then I focus on others without second thought. However, it doesn't stop me from tentatively reaching for things I want, or fighting to hold on to things I want to selfishly keep. No one person is more important than anyone else.
22. Do you make your decisions with an open heart/mind?
~Of course. However that doesn't mean I don't put deep thought into each decision. I want what best.
23. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?
~So far, nothing has compared to having a bad appendix. Although cramping is awful (I've often been so bad off with cramps that I couldn't walk and nearly vomited from pain). But having a bad appendix was blindingly painful. I would have waves of pain that were so bad I couldn't see. I had to deal with it for three days before m mother decided that it wasn't cramps or nervous stomach and took me to the Emergency room, where they told me I immediately needed an appendectomy.
24. What is the most emotionally painful thing that has ever happened to you?
~The loss of close loved ones. I still hurt from them, even after all these years. I still cry, and I still wish I could have done something.
25. Who have you hugged today?
~No one, unfortunately. I actually typically only get hugs when friends visit. :/ Although I'd love hugs and cuddles much more often.
