ever need to call 911 before? if so why?
Ever have to need to taken someplace via ambulance yourself?
ever been hospitalized?
Ever have to need to taken someplace via ambulance yourself?
ever been hospitalized?
And I had an overnight stay in the hospital last year when I had surgery. They were out of normal recovery rooms, so I ended up staying in ICU, which was nice for having a private room but annoying as it's quite loud there with all manner of beeping machines.
I trust it all ended well.
I have never been in an ambulance.
I've only been to the emergency room, never for an extended stay overnight though.
Yes.
Yes.
Had a bladder cancer , survived, But treatments had to be in a hospital.
I never rode the ambulance yet (neither as the patient nor accompanying someone else)
I was hospitalized twice:
- in 2nd grade when I had my appendix out (actually they removed two cause I'm a mutant freak)
- 3 years ago (to help avoid last year of army drafting)
I called 911 when my grandmother had a heart attack and died in 1987, and another time in 2009 when my father was having trouble breathing... before he died.
In May of this year, I was taken by ambulance to the hospital when I started passing gallstones.
Been hospitalized a few times (undescended testicle in 1969, impacted teeth removed in 1973, dialysis catheter/fistula in 2005/2006, kidney transplant in 2012, gall bladder surgery 2012, and probably a couple of other times in between).
I hope you're feeling better. I'll keep sending good thoughts your way.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes I have been taken to a hospital amd been hospitalized, but not by ambulance. I was 5 years old and had my face partly ripped off of my skull by a dalmation dog that thought I was one of four kids that had tormented it (I was not one of those four stupid kids). The resulting surgery had 36 stitches on the right side of my face, but I was not disfigured by it. (I had a damn good surgeon)
I don't trust dalmations as it is. this solidifies it, *hug*
I hope the owners of that dog caught them. They had a lot to awnser for. I will never know now though...
One evening a few years back, my mom was driving me home from school. One thing led to another, and we got into a car accident at an intersection with another car.
Thankfully, I didn't sustain many injuries. I had to call 911 on my cellphone, but I handed the phone to my mother who spoke to the operator instead.
The two of us were taken to a hospital via ambulance. Can't say much about what they did with mom as the two of us were separated once we got there.
As for me, they took me to a normal examination room you'd find even in a normal doctor's office. They checked to see if I'd gotten any internal injuries or something...it was awhile back.
But I checked out, and after a few blood pressure tests I was free to leave, then I waited for my dad to take me home. Not long after, mom was able to return home as well, also checking out fine.
...Shame about the car though, it was totaled, and we only had it for a couple of years. It was a nice car. We thank our lucky stars though, it could've been a whole lot worse for both of us.
No.
No.
Once, I think, over 15 years ago. My family was going somewhere, and a car hydroplaned into us. Out of the five of us, I think that only one of my sisters was actually hurt.
The only time I ever stayed in a hospital was a scheduled surgery for a deviated septum I had. That also was 15 years or more ago.
2a) Once when I was young living on Kwajalein, I accidentally stepped into a hollow tree stump, and got serious splinters. It wasn't life threatening, but it really hurt, and my teachers called an ambulance which took me maybe two blocks away to the hospital.
2b) Also when I was young on that island, I was playing on gymnastics bars in the playground. I was started when the bell rang, lost my grip, and fell six feet flat onto my back. The wind was knocked out of me, and I took an ambulance to the hospital. Also not life threatening.
3) I've been to the hospital various times, but the one time I can recall being hospitalized and sleeping overnight in a hospital bed, was when I had appendicitis, and needed an appendectomy. I was discharged in under 24 hours.
Of course, it's hard to imagine how inoperable cancer affects people - especially people who should be in the prime of their lives.
It's really not that hard to imagine. I used to imagine it. I wasn't spot on, but it's not so far out. Then again maybe it is. I have a unique view on things I am often told..
And I know your prognosis is not good, but we can hope all the way until the end that there can be a fortuitous turn of events. Maybe even a miracle.
Nope, I've not been in an ambulance that I can recall.
I've visited an ER a couple of times. Two fractured wrists when I was like 9.. and again in 2005 when I was hit by a drunk driver and took an airbag to the face. Those things hurt...alot. I couldn't chew comfortably for about 2 weeks. But an overnight stay? Not yet *knocks on wood*
I accompanied my boyfriend via ambulance, that is the only reason I ever been in one.
I was hospitalized once for herniating a disc in my lower back. Worse pain I endured for 6 months.
2) not as far as I can recall.
3) yes, a couple of times. most recently to get my appendix removed.
2) Nope!
3) Yes. When I was diagnosed as a diabetic 11 years ago. Spend 3 days in the ICU and 2 in a regular hospital room. Not fun at all, haven't been back since.
Yes. While making an arrest (retail investigator at the time) that started escalating.
Ever have to need to taken someplace via ambulance yourself?
Sort of. Rolled my vehicle overseas, I was uninjured but they make me take the ambulance anyway.
ever been hospitalized?
As an infant I think.
