Hey folks!
As you know I got a nice camera from
malameux and I have been using it to make a couple of videos demonstrating some fursuit techniques (see my recent uploads for applique paw pads and applying bias tape!). I'm curious, though! Is that sort of thing something you like seeing? What kind of thing are you struggling with that I might be able to help with in a video format?
I am going to be finishing a fursuit head this week for Rainfurrest, and I might be able to film some of that process. I understand there is lots of fursuit video tutorials "out there" on Youtube, I only want to expand the knowledge base!
Sharing of techniques is what got us where we are today. Look at how many fursuit makers there are compared to 10 years ago! I want to encourage more people to make their own fursuits, it is such a rewarding process!
I won't be able to film everything, but hopefully I can help demystify some aspect of the construction process. :3

Where can I find the paw pad and bias tape tuts?
Seeing fursuit feet, i feel not many makers focus on all of the fursuit and just kinda slap the feet together

fursuit eye installment, i dont get 3D eyes, every time i make them they are either too big or too small i even cut out a little piece of paper of the size the eye should be and...they end up wrong most of the time. one suit took me 6 trys till i got tired and just forced the eyes to fit.
Maybe the bottom of fursuit feet, whats the best material for got inside and outside with out looking the appeal if a paw on the bottom (paw pads and such) I have been using floor matting foam so far and im about ready to line them with some hard rubber instead so they can last longer. But thats for outdoor and i dont know how to make it look like foot pads are on the bottom.
Making claws out of non hard material maybe? Not everyone likes to here clacking claws on the floor and might want fabric claws if you know what i mean. What material could be used that could support that much abuse of poking things, grabbing, walking on etc? (same can be said about dragon horns and such)
husky tails, i see alot of people including myself struggling to make a good husky tail. I have a cut out that makes the perfect husky tail and can modify it to have as little or alot curl but.... i have a hard time making consistency when it come to making it stand up like a husky tail. I have added foam at first thinking that might help well it does for some and others it doesnt want to stand up, I tried moving where the straps were thinking that might help...again it varied from person on my tails.
I know theres ones out there already but maybe installing whiskers? Its really not that hard but you never know.
hmm thats all i can think of
However, I think I need to clarify something: I wont ever provide a tutorial for 3D illusion for eyes, because I do not personally install them in any of my pieces (making a tutorial would mean I'd have to!). There's a small illustration on my site demonstrating the concept, but I will probably only leave it at that.
I certainly can try to film an eye installation! But the technique will be something anyone can do that will look good with a simple method, that's really my goal in fursuiting. Not everyone can make 3D illusion eyes look good, especially rarely on a first suit. 3D illusions just aren't my thing, and although many makers do a good job, I think for someone who may be beginning in fursuiting, working on making their costume look like an animal, giving it a nice facial expression, and doing a nice job furring is much more important than strange illusions. I'm sorry to disappoint.
you said to suggest stuff so i did X3 your the one making the tutorials. I think facial expressions is a good one. The few foam heads i made look kinda...plane =/ <===like that
Those are hecka difficult to get down because some people do it with foam (they say) and some it's other ways and it's really confusing.
