Adventures in Pain and Blood
General
I had outpatient surgery on Tuesday on 3 bad abcesses, two on my butt and one on my groin, where I had surgery a few years ago. They tried originally to open the bad one Monday night in the ER, but just lidocaine and a shot of something else didn't even touch the pain I felt as they just touched the sore with a needle, so it was decided to go back in the next day and do outpatient and knock me out for it. Trust me, the pain was THAT intense.
Well, the lady who called me to tell me what time to come in screwed up bigtime and told me I could eat something beforehand, and that caused issues with anethiesia right off the bat. So instead of general, I had to get a spinal block. Never had one before, was very scared of how it sounded. They got me into the OR, and I had to sit on the edge of the bed and hunch over so my spine was exposed. Now, sitting on the sore was agony in itself, even with a roll of paper towles under my hip to try to relieve the pain. And then it turns out, with the back injuries I've had in the past, my ligaments caused them a lot of trouble to get the needles into my spine. I had an IV with something in it to relax me some, so really, the multiple injection attempts to my spine didn't hurt too bad, but it's sore today.
They finally got the stuff in and my legs went numb really fast, in fact, everything from my bellybutton down went numb. The surgery took maybe 45 minutes or so. The surgeon told me that the one on my groin had as much nasty puss as the one on my right hip, though it was smaller. This is where I had a similer surgery back in 2009 in Indiana, and it never really healed after. The big sore though, I know he removed some infected tissues from there. Right now, all 3 are packed with gauze and covered with padding, and it makes me feel a bit like a babyfur with how it's taped up back there. I get to remove the pads and the packing tomorrow, and go back to see the surgeon on Monday, though I'm taking all next week off work too to recover.

Had to remove bandages and packings from the surgery wounds, ended up with a fountain of blood on the bathroom floor. Was not fun at all.
The groin wound wasn't too bad, but it is very swollen. The packing was not too gross, lots of blood was all. The bad big one though, when I pulled it out, it was stuck and when it gave, a fountain of blood came out, all over the floor and the back of my leg. Was really really gross. The other one had a lot of puss on the packing.
I see the surgeon again on Monday, hopefully by then they will be somewhat more healed. If not, he may want to repack them inside. I'm actually surprised he didn't want to see me sooner to repack them as I've had done before.
Many many thanks to
fyremane for helping me to shower and get rebandaged, as I can't do it by myself. Still in a lot of pain too.
And for any who wonder why I can't do it myself, you try it with 1 inch open wounds in your buttocks. Go ahead, just try. I dare ya!

It was horrible to read, I almost gagged and the urge to click the link to see almost overpowered my urge to keep what limited food I've been able to keep down, down.
With that being said, I really hope everything goes well for you. I would honestly like to thank Fyremane myself... I don't know you "personally" and I don't know Fyremane at all, but anyone that's willing to help you out when you've got a number of health issues and get you showered and dressed.......
Lets just say that I've done some noteworthy things in my life and I consider THAT right there above..... 99% of them.
*hugs* I hope you get better... I hate seeing friends-met in person or not-in pain.
Here's hoping you can get something done about it.
Hope they heal up right this time, and don't recur.
