But they are obviously the same breed of Koopa as him. So logically, they'll all grow to be as big a threat as him.

The most terrifying part...his YOUNGEST child is the one who is the most dangerous among the kids.

That said, while Bowser is a force of disruption on the level of a scaly tsunami, he's that way because he has a motivation: Peach.

When those kids grow up, what are the odds that any of them will develop a similar fascination? Namely someone / something that is theoretically attainable, highly important to the social order, and powerful enough to put up a fight?

Of course as I was typing that... They'll find something. There's probably dozen of artifacts that match that description in various kingdoms. And they will stop at nothing to get them.
