I find it strange that as much as most parties and people want to help out poorer families in America, you guys still haven't formed any sort of socialised health care, or medicare type organisations.

A lot of difference and progress would come about if a system like that was put in place. Hell, my boyfriend would be able to visit the doctor without having to wait to receive insurance from his company. A small thing, but it would make a large difference.

Obama actually passed something for that, the Affordable Care Act, which is supposed to be a socialized (prompting people who are against it to threaten to flee to Canada, where they already have that).

Ya I know, and I'm glad he said it, since it pretty much shows what he thinks about 'em, when not being a robot.

I'm pretty disappointed with both parties in general, but after the horrible comments Mitt made, he ensured I won't be voting Republican for years to come. It was incredibly ignorant and out of sync with the reality of the situations that those 47% of Americans face. It actually laughed at it because I thought for sure that he had to be joking, but then I stopped when I realized he was actually being serious.

And Sarah has been one of my favorite comedians for years. This video seems so right coming from here. The only other comedian I could even think of making a video like this is... maybe Daniel Tosh just because of the giving guns to old people part.

yeaahah, some of the things they HAVE said have literally been so crazy, that it circled in around itself and became morbidly hilarious, like Michele Bachmann claiming that Obama knows too much riches and can't connect with regular citizens.

My favorite part of politics now is that it is actually comedy. Headlines even sound like jokes if you go to the right sources. We're just... such a mess as a country these days. I like it though because it makes for humorous conversations, and none of these screw ups recently have been life changing or horrible. It's just people not watching their mouths.

Sarah is a comedian who I like listening to from time to time, but when I'm really in the food for her. I flip from comedian to comedian pretty often though. I'm glad you're so into this stuff though, Furii. I haven't seen many furries talk politics these days, and it is a nice breath of fresh air to see a journal like this. Also, I'm pretty sure the party have their two animals backwards by now.

It really is. Its both hilarious and horrifying, seeing people going to Christ-Wire, and believing the articles posted there (its satire). Like, religious people believing and agreeing with the articles, not even seeing the fact that its a joke, and the opposite side believing it to be honest religious criticism, since most of the time its that over-the-top and crazy.

I only really now sorta got into politics, since my fate is all intertwined in it (what with being supa gay, raised religious, and learning the horrors my religion perpetrate). I'm not really very ermm... like smart with it D:

My mom was convinced that the region known as continent known as Africa on our planet was Tatooine 8 years ago, and that Hoth was the capital of Antarctica. Know she actively watches the news, reads the papers, takes part in political debates with the rest of my family, and I couldn't be more proud of her for making such an effort to learn more about politics. It doesn't matter how long it takes one to "get into politics", because once you know the critical points the rest just sort of flows. Better late than never as they say, Furii.

I've also sort of noticed that lots of the homosexuals on FA, or at least the ones I talk to actively, had religious upbringings and 1 or 2 parental units that hate them for it. I really hope that you aren't in that kind of situation, and that if you are, that your parents will give you a chance to be you without any objections. And though I do say this to everyone, that doesn't detract from the point: Be happy with what you are and have because it will help a lot down the line.

I had religious upbringing as well, not to mention extreme shelteredness. Those in tandem are like, a huge whammy on emotional and psychological growth. It's been a shitty shit shit shit to work through, and I'm terrible at it x.x
twas only because of meeting my boyfriend did I start working at it to begin with.
My mom and my immediate family with her back in the other country know of my supa-gayness, but not my dad, whom I moved back in with. She already took it bad enough, and is still somewhat in the process of comprehending (she more worries about what ridicule or discrimination I'll face), though they're still all a bunch of conspiracy theory nuts whom believe my getting rights will lead to New World Order and all that, so even while out and accepted, I'm still not too fond of them.

I'm honestly indifferent now to my orientation, its my hyper-sensitivity and derpiness that I loathe XP

I'd try to desensitize myself if I were you from the opinions of others. Your life should be about making yourself happy as well as others, but within limits for others. Because ultimately, you come first in your own life. You shouldn't have to care if people have problems with what makes you happy because ultimately their discontent won't have an impact on your life. That's my policy.

Yaaahhhh. Whats bad is that there are plenty that don't actually spread hate and derision, and actually try to be genuinely Christ-like, but they're not nearly as plentiful or loud as the hateful misguided ones.

I have trouble doing that honestly. My own sense of confidence or success is constantly decided by other peoples input, and its hard to do away with it.

That can be said for every religion really these days, which is very depressing.

And if your own sense of confidence is based on other people's input, then allow me to contribute (And try not to sound like a fanboy of your art while doing so). You're a very nice guy who is very aware of the world around him, an incredibly gifted artist with a bottomless supply of creative ideas, and you care a lot about others and the world around you. You're substantially more mature than a good chunk of this country which really says something in these times. You should be very proud of yourself, Furii. I would be if I were you.

Ironically not every religion. Some really do have a basis of respect for other religions and tolerance, but its just because they're not loud and in your face about forcing it on you, they're like, never ever heard of XD

Buddhists are awesome, by the way. It's the one religion I've always loved next to Judaism. Judaism because my family is Jewish and I can honestly say that I've never seen a jewish person protest against gay rights in person. On the news, yes, but not in person.

In all seriousness though, if you want me to point out any fault you may have it would be hard. Because I don't really know you that well. Though I'd love to get to know you, and perhaps help you improve yourself down the line. It would be an honor to do so, but I'd of course need to actually talk to you and get to know you as a person. It depends on where you live. I know like 3 buddhists, all of whom are the three nicest people I know. They all donate to multiple charities, perform community service in their free time, and are strictly non-violent. I personally grew up in a Jewish neighborhood, with a Temple 5 minutes from my house by foot, minute and a half by car. There was never any crime or anything in my neighborhood and we had a lot of very charitable people, and even when it came to controversial issues, the people there were incredibly nice and in the very few cases where people were anti-gay rights, it was only because of their personal comfort with it and not because of religious grounds which I find to be much more acceptable. I just don't like people using religion as a shield, I'm fine with people being uncomfortable with it and I try to respect them actually.

Also yes, the comment floods do make for "Hot topics". And it makes me wish this conversation wasn't just the two of us in a way.

My neighborhood was pretty regular, like as regular as you can get in FL, which is supposed to be the weirdo part of the bible belt (looking under the FL section of true crime sites kinda confirms this). Never had any different religion'd people or anything like that. About the only time I had any exposure was in Trinidad when living with my mom, and that was mostly to Hindu stuff, on part of my neighbor-friend and stepbrother's family. The crew my mom pals around with technically does try to do the Christlike things they're supposed to do, but they do also still try to prevent the usual things around, like abortion and whatnot, so I have no doubt that they'd have a push against marriage equality too, as its still heavily stigmatized in the Caribbean from religion.
