Huh. I'll have to admit, I never thought that about fursuits with shorts. I also didn't think that suits with SPH/sheaths were all that common to begin with. Sex in a fursuit doesn't sound particularly practical, at least.

I think it's only creepy if you have just the shorts or boxers. Having a pair of cargo shorts with a shirt should be fine.

If you wear a shirt it's less suspicious - at least in my mind.

Never thought about that o__O I mean, my char isn't a toon, so if it`s naked meanst ITS NAKED. And it`s not ok to be in a public place naked. So. I prefer some clothes on my suit.

If you want to wear shorts, wear shorts; just make sure they are proportionate to your suit, not you. I have a fullsuit and wear clothes because I don't like running around naked. It's unbecoming. Now if you were running around in a pair of boxers or tight underwear I would definitely assume you were a dirty birdy.

I think its really only obvious when the suit is completely nude, then wearing a speedo. Clothing itself like shorts and accessories would make it more believable.

I'd be more scared off by a horde of unclothed fursuits than by hidden sex features. Because the characters they all dress as would basically be naked. Normal humans would never be able to get away with doing things in that way.

yeah... cause there's also the neccessities of nature ta consider... if ya get 'that call' sometimes it's hard enough tryin' ta get to the bathroom in time much less havin' ta worry about completely takin' a full suit off just ta take a pee/dump...

I men yeah sure my Shet fursuit does have a 'sheath' an does have a cock an balls accessory I can slide through the sheath but yeah the reason I wear shorts is for quicker access in/when I need ta use the restroom more-so than fer tryin' ta hide anything :P

Not many actually HAVE SPH/Sheaths though. .And IF they do.. They normally have 2 (or more) different bodysuits. 1 for "fun and play" and 1 for public outings.

well there are a few suit makers that make fursuit leggings so you can wear shorts.

Well, the assumption is based on real events of murrsuits being out in public, usually wearing boxers, hugging people and..being really gross.

BUT I think if you're wearing like actual pants and a shirt, and not just boxers/underwear, then I probably wouldn't think anything of it considering our furry characters tend to wear clothes when we draw 'em (sans porn of course, sometimes).

Funny that you mention that, one of my friends was stressing over the exact same thing. His character wears cargo shorts and a vest.

I think its kinda silly for someone to make such assumptions and think less of you for it. I personally don't have any interest in doing so but if I had a suit I might or might not wear just shorts regardless simply because sometimes it just looks right on the suit. Say if he surfs or just always chills in those clothing choices he would be sporting just that. Anyways it's not really their business if someone does or not either so.

I was thinking of making a top portion for Marcus and wearing my cargo shorts until I can get the grey for his body suit, but I pondered folks thinking the same thing. Wear your shorts anyway.

That wouldn't be my first assumption either, I see lots of people who put clothes on their fursuit. Really, if someone is gonna assume that that, then they probably aren't worth your time to deal with.

Never thought of that myself. Just mostly like style... characters can have style and as far as i know the main purpose of fursuits were to bring ones character to life.... and characters have clothing and style xD

If the clothes are sized and fitted to the suit rather than the person inside people are probably less likely to draw that assumption? Especially with you have other clothes or accessories.

I actually really like  StrawberryCrux's idea. Charge people "admission" if some are actually brazen enough to ask. You get some cash on the side AND you get to prove the perverts wrong! Win/win situation! XD

wow, never thought of that before. But seriously,I agree with other comments in thinking that it shouldn't really matter, if someone automatically thinks that it's just their mind in the gutter. Or just wear fitted clothes + shirt and other accessories. If it's made to look as part of the costume it shouldn't get any negative attention (although there are ALWAYS some).

When wearing shorts in a fursuit... many people will thing you actually have a murrsuit :P However, I know pleanty of furs that just wear them for style reasons plus having pockets is a total plus ^V^

I have a dog character who wears shorts. He also carries a surfboard too, so the two convey the impression of - being a water-loving dog. Maybe - as some others have said - if you accessorize the shorts with either a shirt or maybe even some kind of necklace, tank top, vest, sandals or a combination of any, you'd convey that it's an outfit, and not covering a fetish.

If you wear a shirt over the top, then to me, it'd be more obvious that the shorts are just part of the outfit. Wearing shorts by themselves? Yeah, people that have been around long enough (or who've been to enough cons) might make the assumption you've got something to hide, but who cares? Screw 'em. Do what you want, have fun, and don't worry about it. =)

(I think the reality is, even if they did assume you had a sheath under your pants, very few would hold it against you anyway.) xD

Never thought that... I just take as part of the character. Kinda like toons on TV they have an outfit that is part of them.

I'm wearing shorts on my fursuit too, but because it fits to the character (shorts and an open leather jacket). My suit actually isn't a fullsuit, but a 3/4-suit (this means that on the upper legs above the knees there is no fur attached, just the neoprene suit that is under the fur is visible there). So to be true, I HAVE to hide something, but it has nothing to do with SPHs or some other dirty things. It is no fur under the shorts because it would be way too hot if there was any.
I don't care if people think that there is something hidden under my pants. People who know me know that I'm not that kind of person.
