Marijuana effects the memory.
Marijuana effects the memory.
*Brilliant as in "excellent" and not "really smart"*
**Discussion rules:

ΔStay chill. No fighting. Think of what Thumper's momma taught him- that applies here too. Even if you disagree with someone, you can respond civilly. (Seriously, its not even worth it. Ill just hide any argument as soon as I see it. IDC if you're still talking or not, I'll be rude like that if I have to =P)**
High Everybody!
We've all seen them in the glass cases at our local herb shop, most often because we're looking in another case for the perfect Pringles stash can, or drooling over the latest Zong. Often, we don't give them a second glance. Some ignore them because "They're legal, so how good could they be?" - but there are some who swear by them.
Damiana, Blue Lotus, Wild and Klip Dagga, Salvia Divinorum, Marijuanilla, Wild Lettuce, Yerba, Calea Zacatechichi, Sinicuichi, Cali Poppy, Kanna, Coltsfoot, Migwort, Celadine, Mullien, Marshmallow, Kratom.
EDIT--Folks, I am not talking about "legal weed" or "incense", that is a topic for it's own discussion. This is about the herbs listed above, not a drug that uses some of these herbs and has some chemical sprayed on it
What have you tried? When? How old were you? How did you like it? What was it like? Would you suggest it to others? Was it what you expected?
Lets have some smoke and tell, everyone! =3

I didn't mind the high, it was a bit of a head high and less of a couch lock. My friends swear by it though I'm skeptical of it due to not knowing the long term effects but it is nice if you have a high tolerance to most strains of marijuana.
It wasn't exactly what I was expecting... because it takes a lot less and hits you like a ton of bricks. At $42 for 4.2grams, it's rather fair for the price and is about par with most permo-weed.
They also have a similar product called GoldRush though the effects of that are more like cocaine and I refuse to try it as it's a bit more expensive but I guess it's the same chemicals as Spirit420 but more of it and the increase creates effects similar to doing blow.
Anyone else try Spirit420?
I used to love it. To the point I pretty much got a mild addiction to it. Then people started going nuts because they kept changing the chemicals around to keep it on the shelves.. I finally got a detox by force- when the police in my area seized all of it from every store. I am grateful, because while it was awesome (I like head highs, and you're right, it hits you like a train after only a couple hits) I know now that if I'd have kept up I'd probably have a pretty serious addiction.
I don't trust that stuff anymore. Besides the fact that people are smoking it and beating up their grandmothers or punching up maternity wards- I just don't feel safe about it anymore. Like I said, they keep changing it to make it legal once they pass a law against it, who knows what we're actually smoking anymore? I don't wanna smoke something when I don't even know what it is. =/
I moved between states a while ago and lost all of my contacts. I used to take weed for certain emotional problems of mine and so quitting cold turkey wasn't an option- so I tried the incenses. The frequency I ended up taking them is what roped me in. It probably takes a lot to become addicted, as no one else around me did- but I haven't smoked the stufdf since- even though, and honestly, BECAUSE, I still get strong urges for it. I have no doubt if I let myself get ahold of some again, or was even around it, I'd get roped back in, and I do not want that ><!
Thank you so much for the warning!!!
Salvia dinorum is NOTHING like weed at all and a completely new and novel substance.
although it really isn't comparable to marijuana. That's an entirely different drug.
Thing is, our government keeps illegalising those too.
073 is the best in my opinion. Consistent, familiar, and hardly takes the tinyest tinyest little speck at the end of a pin, dusted over (any generic herbal stuffing)
Down here in Florida, our attn. General Pamela Bondi did an emergency scheduling of ALL chemicals with ANY cannabinoid activity of any kind. so....
Most of the other herbs listed, are kinda sorta ok on their own. it's the poor man's mix. Tend to be harsh, and some leave a weird taste in my mouth. Passion Flower is nice though. It's a mild anti-depressant, and makes me horny.
tons of stuff on Erowid available and Wikipedia.
Keep it Classy Furs~
I might try it once more later down the road when I prepare myself a bit more mentally
And for those saying "I had a terrible experience, if I try it again, I will prepare myself/be in a different mood or setting," do not expect salvia to behave like shrooms or other hallucinogens. It has a different effect on your brain, and that's why the trip is so different and--for most people--scary. I've only tried it once, myself, and didn't even get much, but I've heard that's common for first timers.
While many entheogens cause hallucinations that can be pleasant and euphoric, salvia tends to cause panicky feelings and unease. Salvia activates a part of the brain known to modulate pain and commonly results in fear responses, chemically, in the brain. For someone wanting to expand their consciousness via shamanistic exploration of their psyche, this could be a desirable thing ... but for just some kid wanting a fun trip, salvia is not really the way to go.
Also, I hate when people say things like "salvia's not as good as weed." duuuurrr. They're COMPLETELY different - one's a social/unwinding drug and another is an intense experience all in itself. of course it won't be "as good". It's like saying "Alcohol is not as good as shrooms." That may be a point, but they're completely different.
EDIT--Folks, I am not talking about "legal weed" or "incense", that is a topic for it's own discussion. This is about the herbs listed above, not a drug that uses some of these herbs and has some chemical sprayed on it
Sorry for reposting what you said, thought it might help.
I started smoking it at 15, and yeah the first few times were a bit intense, my first time actually as soon as I exhaled the smoke, everything around me just melted into one little ball that regrew into some kind of Mexican game show :|
After some experience smoking from 5x up to 80x, smoking every day at least once a day I realized I could control the salvia trip. Then the 5 minutes it lasts is kind of a letdown :p
Dagga is great, mixing with flavored pipe tobacco, a lot of these herbs are very subtle and you kinda have to use a lot.
the most ocmmon Damiana and Scullcap are rather tasty and floral almost.
Kratom..... i must say is interesting, it's like the poor man's opiate. tastes HORRIBLE, nauseatingly nasty. lasts a couple hours and has a horrible crash, makes me irritable as hell. But i'e gone through at least a couple pounds in my day.
i wouldn't trust a prepared "Mix", since they're not food products, i do not know WHAT unknown research chem is in it. So i prefer to stay with single entity things.
My buddy SWIM wrote all this stuff...
Herbs like Damiana, Blue Lotus, Wild and Klip Dagga, have mild effects when taken in alone. So mild, that I really don't see the point of it. I've heard people say "they increase your libido", but in my opinion, no more than a piece of chocolate would. I never found any mind trips. I guess you could say my body felt a little weird, but more just exhausted. I've had Damiana, Blue Lotus , Wild and Klip Dagga on multiple occasions, but never really found any gratification in them. Only a reason to cough. I don't recommend them.
Salvia Divinorum however....phew....what an experience. I've had it on 3 separate occasions, all about 1 to 2 years ago. I remember each time almost perfectly. Only one of the experiences I could actually say I enjoyed though. I was in my friends car, passenger seat and had about eh...a decent pinch packed in a water pipe. Salvia Divinorum typically comes in different strengths: 2x, 5x, 10x, 20x,100x etc. but the kind I had purchased came rated by color: purple (weakest available), blue, green, yellow, orange, red (strongest available). I had red, and this was my first time trying it. The instructions the salvia came with... (instructions? WTF, right?!) told me to hold it for 30 seconds, which was surprisingly easy...I think. After inhaling, I only had maybe 20 seconds before an intense mind high hit. Suddenly, I felt as if the car was spinning around me. I could see all 360 degrees around me at once, and I was rotating if that makes sense. I was sort of freaked out by the this feeling, but sort of enjoyed it at the same time. I also felt extremely wet, as if I was sweating intensely or if I had peed myself, however I was completely dry. These feelings went on and became stronger for a few minutes, then took about an 30 or so minutes to die down, however the feeling did linger slightly all day.
The 2nd time I tried Salvia Divinorum was a bit more scary to me. I purchased the same type a few months later, and re-read the instructions. It actually told me to try 0.5 GRAMS! and hold it for 30 seconds. I now regret trying to. This time I was smoking in a friend's bathroom with him, out of a small pipe. After taking the hit, I held a towel to mouth to help contain the smoke. Once again, when 20 seconds hit the trip began, only this time I completely lost my sense of surrounding. I felt unconscious at first, then almost started dreaming. I saw a bunch of crazy patterns of lines repeating themselves all around me, and for some reason felt like it was the meaning to the universe. XD When people say it can be a very spiritual experience, they arent kidding. My religious beliefs were different for about a week! Anyway, the line patterns were rather intense, and lasted for what felt like a good half hour, before very slowly dying down. Once again, the feeling lingered, but much longer this time. Maybe a good 2 days. Now my friend, who was with me while smoking had quite an interesting story for me when I came back to my full self. Apparently, after smoking, I threw the towel I was holding and ran out of the room. Then, in the next room, I sat down in a chair and started yelling for someone to "shut the fuck up" and later tried explaining how the universe is built.....I'm not even getting into that. @.@
In the end, my opinion of Salvia Divinorum is to try it if you are really that curious about it. However be warned, it can be intense if you don't limit the amount and strength of it you choose to take in. It can be scary, but pleasant and spiritual in moderation
I don't know much about the rest of the herbs listed aside from Kratom, which just tasted to damn nasty for me to even get a small dose. I tried mixing it with things, but eh...I just couldn't.
But now I don't really touch herbs like these. None are as great as our good friend Mary! Just stick with the ganja ya fuzzies!!!

I found damiana lacked any aphrodesiac properties, i did think it did something. Something hard to put my finger on, but something nonetheless...mild stimulation, muscle relaxation when smoked, warmth all over...*shrug* When smoked, though, the taste is sweet, floral and pleasant...almost sour, so regardless of psychoactive impotence I never found it a bad addition to tobacco or bud.
I have had some awesome experiences with Salvia though.
I know many people aren't big fans of the stuff and I can understand how it could be scary to someone who was not expecting it, or it can seem just disorientating and downright uncomfortable to someone who was expecting a "real" or "normal" psychedelic trip (similar to that of acid, mushrooms, or even many of the new RCs out there). But I have had nothing but positive experiences with the stuff. I have experimented with it dozens of times over the years from about the age 18-21 trying different strength extracts and even but some raw leaves to make tea and quids from. I will say though that 90% of the stuff you buy from stores is pretty much garbage. I have found that buying it from people who share an interest in it and took the time to make a good quality extract is always the way to go.
Another cool thing about salvia is it's anti-depressant qualities. Studies have been done on the topic to look for an actual medical use even, when taken in small doses it produces no high but will actually naturally lift your mood and make you less prone to depression for a few days. Even when taken in huge doses once the short lived high wears off I tend to be in a really good mood for almost the next week, and it's not a drug-induced happy feeling, it just honestly makes the mind at ease for some reason.
Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to do any in the last 3-4 years but I am still fond of it. I'd love to do some again now that I think of it again though. It would really improve my mood I think it would be good for me, and recreational too of course!
I also tried Damiana, but consumed and drank it only. Its suppose to heighten your sexual arousal/libido, but for me being asexual it did nothing. Same with horny goats weed, did nothing but made my body more sexually ready downstrairs, still felt no arousal or anything. Same goes for Tongkat herb (ingested via herbal capsules and mixed in a drink).
Big waste of money for me, for someone struggling with sexual libido problems.
Weed available in the Daytona Beach area of Florida seemed to make me pretty horny almost every time I smoked it, and I smoked reggies to mids (not crap, apparently the standard for weed is higher in Florida? IDK, because whenever I've tried "regs" elsewhere, its ditch weed, but regs in Florida seem to be everyone else's mids...*shrug* ). My dealers sourced from Miami and Orlando. Georgia Fire weed also seems to have a libido stimulating effect, but I have only smoked it a couple times a few years ago, so I can't speak for it as strongly.
mugwort is a personal favorite for smoking and tea.
blue lotus is nice to mix.
Yet to get my paws on all the others, being stuck at home limits what I can smoke...and my availability of incense to cover it lol
I noticed people talking about synthetic weed, it's something I won't ever touch. Why would I have the fake crap when I can get better real stuff xD
Also, salvia...gonna get my paws on some of that soon, not really legal here (from what I'm told), either way, will be a experience and a half XD
