Fuck Today's Music
So i posted a little tiny rant on my fb about the Green Day inciddent that just recently happend at the IHeartRadio music festival. If you haven't seen it here it is.
I was reading comments around the net about the inccident and saying it was a disgrace and how Billy and the band do this. Saying Billy was on drugs and was under stressed. For me I believe that that is utter bullshit, and they had every right to freak out on that stage. The reason he freaked out is because the festival cut their set from 45 mins to 30 so they can make more time for Usher. How the fuck do you cut the set of a actual band that rights their own music and performs it with actual instruments to make more time for some sell out, autotuned twat.
Fuck today's music, Fuck these boybands and pop stars who only got famous because of their good looks and able to sing on tune enough so a effect can make them sound better, and fuck all the fans who never heard of good singers or bands such as Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper, Ramones, The Beatles,M.J etc. We are in a society where anyone can be a musician or singer with no talent what so ever. Every singer or band these days look like they came out of a fucking Abercrombie and Fitch magazine and all sound the fucking same. Hell I have a hard time telling Kesha, Katie Perry and Taylor Swift apart in a song. All 3 of them sing the same damn song with the same damn club music behind it.
We need more bands and more outrages like this in today's music to actually save it from the mindless brainwashing beats that we have now. Bands and singers with talent and not just some bitch off of American Idol. Fuck todays music!!

FA+

But still, the organizer perhaps gets more money if this guy can talk longer, and a bit of that more-money will be given to Greenday.....if they cut their concert from 45 to 30....
Amen. I whole heartily agree with what Billy Joe did. Fuck the system. But if it were me, I wouldn't have stormed off. I would have kept playing until they pulled me off stage. Literally have security come and take me off. THAT would've been more punk of them than cursing and storming off, imo.
In all honesty, I think GD has lost their edge. I don't like their new stuff at all. "Oh, Love" is OK but it doesn't sound much like them. I guess I'll have to wait for the new album to drop. I didn't like American Idiot, 21 Guns, or any of their previous newer stuff. Wasn't the GD I know and love. Give me stuff like their album 'Warning' and before. I do understand that bands mature and evolve but it doesn't mean I -have- to like it.
But I also see it from the corporate view. Usher is more popular today than Green Day is. This was an IHeartRadio event. It's "who they think is the bigger name will win" game and GD lost and lost it onstage.
On a different topic: This has been going on for years. When the Beatles first blew up on the scene, fans (mostly teenage prepubescent girls) were clamoring maniacally over them much like the boy bands and pop stars of the 80s, 90s, 00s, and today i.e. new Kids on the Block, Backstreet, Nsync, Bieber, One Direction, Kesha etc.
The generation that loved and grew up with the Beatles, I can guarantee that their parents, of the previous generation before, disliked them. Much like today where I, and many other adults above the age of 25, can't stand whatever pop music is out today. Sadly, today's generation loves it. It sucks growing up and that's what's happening. It's best to ignore it as a whole though you can't get away from it no matter what you do. I hate sounding like a parent: "Today's music is nothing compared to what I was growing up with."
There are few who slip through the cracks that I enjoy like Adele, Cee-Lo, even Psy. You just have to know how to weed out the good from the terrible. Whatever MTV plays today, including ALL their shows and videos (if any at all) I don't watch at all or can't stand. In fact, I stopped watching MTV after Carson left TRL. Only watched TRL for the Korn videos. Something good betwixt all of the bubblegum pop. Oh, and also when Britney was wearing skimpy outfits. >.>
But unfortunately you won't ever see bands like The Beatles ever again. During their tenure, they grew and matured and their fans grew and matured with them. That's why they are beyond legendary today.
I'm in no doubt a rock fan. Feed me more. I want to hear it all. Good or bad, I'll make my opinion of it.
I can say the same thing for terrible pop music today with today's radio rock. It really does suck but the bands -could- be something later on. But for most bands i.e. 5 Finger Death Punch, Volbeat, Adelita's Way, their previous efforts before they sold out to mainstream radio is so much better. Good thing my radio station here plays a good bit of older stuff.
Sorry for rambling up your page.
Lame shit is lame.
It's easier to pop out a club track these days. People have become less cultured and intelligent in America. They need differentiate from a song to dance to in club and a song that really sends a message and is composed with real talent.
I don't hate pop music because it's catchy and fun but I know it has no talent and would never get my money. I heart radio attendees are unfortunately people who think it is talented music.
