The other day, I had a short, basically-single-scene story idea hit me (which is rare, all of my story ideas seem to be at least several chapters long, hence I almost never get around to finishing anything) and I got the chance to flesh the idea out a bit more today. The thing is, I'm not 100% confident I picked the right age for the two characters. I want them to be old enough to recognize attraction, desiring time and simple physical contact with each other, but young enough to still be mostly innocent about it socially (and not have sex on the mind yet). So I've thought about making them sixth-grade or so. Too low/just right/too high?
