SSD get!

I've just finished installing a new SSD I juuuust got. It's absolutely screaming and makes me slightly giddy. Photoshop opens in less than 4 seconds, web browsing somehow became instantanous, and opening a file in any program is faster than a blink of an eye. The drive 'data transfer rate' on the windows experience index is a 7.6 out of the 7.9. Zoooommmmm. XD
Much better than the old hard drive, which was starting to slow down and made me think it was nearing failure, especially given it was a Hitachi "Death"Star. I've had an HD fail on me before (though data was backed up, so no data loss), so I took the seemingly similar slow-down seriously, and also used it as an excuse to get a bit of a treat. Wooooo.

Samsung's pretty good at data storage as well as WDC
Seagate has some good innovations, but their HDDs are known to have some problems
US: 240gig for $181
UK: 240gig for £140
There's cheaper (smaller) ones too.
At least if you're mostly using it as the boot drive + a few other programs, and then most of everything else on a standard drive. If it's the only drive in there, you'll hafta pick out the relevant things to change.
Remember when i got my first ssd...... was totaly worth the money! (Even tough i should have waited a half year, then the prices would have been halfed. 100$ for 120gb ugh!!)
1. Change all default "save as..."/"download to..." settings to a HDD.
2. Consider configing Firefox to use a memory cache instead of the SSD.
3. Never defrag. In fact, make sure TRIM is enabled (check that you can't schedule an auto windows defrag on your SSD)
