I've been cut many times at work but this time was different. Basically a pointed spring's edge ran across the area just inside my left thumb, the whole thing is three inches long but only two inches is bad. The skin can be pulled apart and it reveals a greyish-blue layer with miniscule traces of small red veins of sorts I guess. I soaked the entire wound with antiseptic spray and covered with sterile gauze then wrapped it. I don't know if the blue layer was the second layer down or if it was actually tendon, I'm purposely avoiding bending my thumb or putting any strain on the area to let it heal. Am I right with my assumptions on what it was, and if seeing it is a really bad thing. The cut itself wasn't that deep at all ... but it's not something I've seen before so it has me weirded out.

well if it wasnt that deep then it shouldnt be a tendon maybe you saw bruise like blood before it can take in oxigen? i been "bittin" by those jack stands clicked the release thing and thought finger was away but the webbing between point finger and thumb got cought and well guilitine effect happen sof ast no pain nothing just a cut XD but onlything i can think of being blue is vein but usualy that turns red instantly due to blood takeing in oxygen.

Yeah, my sister's mom was a former nurse and we did some back and forth. I'm going to keep an eye on it. First sign of pain or discoloration and I'm going to a doctor, filled out an accident report at work before leaving to cover my ass. It's my luck, cleaning the machine and whammo. A small tiny ass spring bites me. Oi

Don't think I've ever cut myself deep enough for something like that to happen. All I can say is keep a close eye on it like you already mentioned :>
