In fact they are somewhat the same as their 'big brothers': Lions and (mostly) other felines have to-the-throat-pointed hooks on their tongue to 'lick up' the leftover flesh off the bones of their prey. Not sure if cats will do the same with mice, but since cats have usually a raw tongue with 'something' on it.
