Back from Rainfurrest 2012

Got back yesterday afternoon, took care of some things, and crashed out for awhile.
Overall I was a bit disappointed this year. This was not the fault of the convention and staff really, it was more about the people there. Conventions are really just kind of where you realize how stuck up people you think you know are. Also how shallow. I'm pretty sick of the Portland locals more than not, and if I was 10 years younger I probably would consider moving for a "fresh start", but those sort of days are behind me.
In the end I just need some new circles of friends to hang out with when it comes to conventions, some new experiences to come across. I also wished that I could be naive and just innately happy all the time, so that those furs who are not so "down to earth" or with it mentally didn't annoy me so much. Wanting to choke out such a large portion of the fandom for their lack of mental/cognitive faculties doesn't help.
