RainFurrest 2012 Report
Thursday, I dont remember much. We hadn't realized that it was a 4-day con yet so we made plans to drive up Nox to RF that afternoon. Singing along to his iPod, the trip didn't feel too long, nor too short. A few rest stops and game checks later, we were in Seattle and totally at the wrong hotel. We stopped at the Double Tree Hotel, only to be informed by Nox's significant other that we were at the wrong place. Luckily, the Hilton was just down the road from there.
Giving up on sharing a room with anyone, we checked prices and found that the Rhodeway Inn was offering rooms at a third of the price the Hilton was. Taking the deal, we sat back with pizza and slept since Reg was closed for the night. (REG WHY U NO OPEN 24/7?!?)
Next morning, we ate at the Hilton's Buffet, om nom nommming til it came time for Reg to open. I was very disappointed that it opened at the same time that the first panel started. A HealthyFurs Panel that I wanted to go to D: I missed half the panel but I was glad to atleast make it there x.x I wonder why they don't close Reg but keep a Reg Comp in Con Ops? For late joiners? Oh well.
Also, repeat Panels were disappointing, I'd find myself with nothing to do whenever the panels were repeated and wander back to find jagdwolf and see what he was upto.
Later that day, while looking for a panel to keep me busy. A Partial Suiter caught my attention and asked me to follow them. I found out later that his name was Belshy and this was his first con. I spent the rest of the con Stalking/Following him and his buds around. YAY for random invites.
At first I wandered off, standing still bores me and makes me antsy. You can tell by how many times I turn in a circle in place. Meeting up later, I found myself more and more amused/entertained and less inclined to disappear on my own. So I ended up spending most of the con with Belshy, Puppy, Jeremy, and two others...which I feel bad for forgetting their names. Including playing a few Dance Dance Rev Matches with Belshy, soooooo much FUN.
I went to multiple panels, including Healthy Furs, Home Brewing, Writer's 101(#2), Write a story in an hour, Writers Challenge (#2), Matrices fursuit panel (the one where we talk about materials), Vocal Training, Voice Acting, Fursuit Games, and the Fursuit Dance Competition. Plus we ate lunch/Dinner (I don't remember which it was) at Denny's. Om nom nom.
I got a few pictures while I was there, though not many. I also recorded the Fursuit Parade, which I need to edit together and post once my internet cooperates.
I posted a few updates on Twitter, though not many, I was very entertained and distracted so I'd forget to spam it. Besides, I don't normally use twitter to begin with.
Friday night, I chugged a beer to loosen my lips and babbled whenever I wasn't dancing. Talking about whatever would pop into my head and wanting to dance til the night was over.
Saturday morning, we dragged ourselves out of bed to go to the Cartoon thingy. I grabbed a box of cereal for later and poked furryskibum for good measure. MushiMagicSuits looks entertained so I left her alone. Besides, I don't know how she reacts to pokes yet.
Saturday night, Belshy let me wear his suit (We're almost the same size o.o) and I squeaked and purred for any and all that petted me. I also said hi to 85% of the people that passed me by. Dancing in suit felt a little awkward at first, unsure if any of it would look good, but after a while I didn't care anymore and dancie danced allllll night.
Sunday Morn/Noon, we wandered around, me still wearing his suit whilst meeting up with the people that had danced with me the night before. I got Max's Badge *squeak* and WILL be stalking them later. Oh, and a picture of me with a fursuiter as well as a picture of me in suit with Belshy. YAY.
Sadly by 1:30pm,it was time for us to go. Driving 13 hours back to MT to drop off Nox then drive 3 more hours to get home at 6am Monday.
