Patent, to make something yours copyright blah blah blah.
One thing I noticed, is people getting yelled at (multiple people) cos of doing a rubber panther.
*long sigh*
I am not kidding, I am not joking around or trying to make you laugh, a panther (big black cat in the wild) made in a big black rubber cat form.
I can't bring myself to think you can copyright such a thing, it's impossible, and to add to this, rumours spread and than bam! Artist won't do art for some of those people.
I mean really? Like, is this a thing? Or am I going insane?
*sighs again* if your gonna do that please, bring it up with The Lord and saviour you want to copy right his creation cos u put a shiny cost on them. If there is an image close to an image you have than fair enough, but if its rubber panther in general, no, and no, cos it has rubber pouring onto someone no you can't copyright that either, I seem such stuff for some characters over 10 times, it's cos it's hot an interesting way to cost someone, so don't give me that shit! Lol
Either way I'm gonna ask a lawyer friend of mine about the whole situation, so yeah ill say what he has to say about it :3

It could be because the design is the same and name. Have you looked further in these stories?
They call them by there original furs names, and design is all different and sometimes same when it's same artist
If not, then I agree, its useless to get pissed off over a person's fursona cause of their simular species.

That person should feel a bit more...positive and good? i don't know how to spell it in english, because their work is used like inspiration for another character, i would feel a bit proud if someone wants to have a character like mine, but NOBODY has the same character, even if they're similar in a quick view...
In fact, i created time ago just for fun a character of a black panther of rubber and i use it sometimes, i wonder if that person will demand me :P he/she even doesn't know me, and similar things will happen in this fandom <.< if you don't get over it, then sorry for you, but furries are like this, lol
