What do you pencil users draw with?

I personally hate things i have to sharpen so i use mechanical, thing is i go with .5mm lead and even that doesnt seem good enough (lines are too thick) or maybe its just me. It's really hard to draw things in detail with lead thats not small enough or sharp enough, you know how you have to keep turning the pencil to get the sharp part of the lead. Fuck that noise! I want small lead, am i crazy to want a .3mm lead pencil to draw with? Seems awesome idk

They are refillable (so any lead size works), have a twist eraser, and are good for fine detail.
For loose sketching and rough doodles, I like grabbing a pack of cheapie BIC pencils.

They always have them on sale near back-to-school time.
If you're worried about thin lines though, I suggest investing in some good pens.
That way you can be as messy (so long as the pencil is light) with your sketch as you please, and then precise when it comes to inking!
There are all kinds of pencils, charcoal and woodless behave WAY differently! Mechanical is definitely the most precise.
Also from experience, I've found white erasers to be the best for mechanical pencil. You can get the click tube ones too!

Although, having a bigger eraser can still be good for covering large areas.
General's TRI TIP is my favorite for that~

I love pentel for my pencils mostly (mechanical) especially the drafting ones, they can be found at art stores where they sell (architectural) drafting supplies. Michael's usually has a few. Also, TUL is a good brand of pencil but 2 packs will cost you about $10 however even Safeway has them!
Don't learn from me kids.
They have a couple .3 mechanical pencils at blick. Even though some can be expensive, it's well worth the investment! :D
