I need horror movie knowledge-help
I'm looking for good horror movies to watch for halloween, I don't mind old as long as I can still find them/haven't seem them already, with a Huge preference to supernatural themes. The list so far: Piranha II (I knew there was a movie with flying piranhas I saw before, but couldn't remember the name, people kept saying I was just imagining things, tsk..Though I also remember a movie where sharks learned to walk on land, still looking for that one)
The Fly
The Fly II
Pumpkin
P.S. Dear Lord.. Browsing movies, looking for werewolf movies.. 'Ilsa, she-wolf of the SS', not a werewolf movie, though sounds interesting to say the least.

in the end it still was the same thing.. But I saw it had multiple movies, time to check those as well =D
And what was that headless horseman movie? With the guy with shark teeth
"The Howling" series was pretty decent overall, had it's highs and lows. For "werewolf movies" they were a good watch. Being the eighties era, effects were done practically, with prosthetics and animatronics, so you weren't too taken out of the movie.... or maybe you were if they looked 'too fake' for your tastes. *shrugs* The 'Ginger Snaps' werewolf movies were also debatably good, some FAR better than others. So many come to mind, but my memories' a bit hazy on the titles...
Of course, the original "Hellraiser" was a classic in it's own right, but the series of films didn't just go downhill, they LEAPED off a CLIFF to their doom. *groans* Along the vein of series of films with a scary theme that started great and turned to so much waste, *bleah face* the original "The Omen", not bad, great fun for drinking games as well. Also good to mention the original "Exorcist" and "Children of The Corn". Good stuff, there.
Although the story can be a bit too off for some, I enjoyed "The Phantasm" movies... which also went through a process of great to garbage, but still, worth a look... Angus Scrimm as The Tall Man will always be a classic spooky character to me. I know there's been a movie made recently called "The Tall Man", which sounded for all the world like someone watched "The Phantasm" and wanted to make the story more accessible to the popcorn-crunching masses of fat amerikan movie-goers, but *shrugs*, who'm I to judge.
Tim Burton's take on "Sleepy Hollow" or even the musical "Sweeny Todd" although both not pure horror movies were enjoyable, very specific style and flavor to them... and of course I'm a sucker for Burton's tone.... and musicals... and Christopher Walken...
For cheesy fun, I know I've often enjoyed "The Mangler", the original or the newer remake. *chuckles* Most of the Robert Englund school of direct-to-DVD horror movies are such great cheesy fun.
Speaking of cheesy, horror, supernatural, and the 80's, I bring up two films, "Trick'R'Treat" and "Black Roses". Both having to do with rock musicians and demonic powers causing death, murder and mayhem. *laughs*
For jumping right off the goofy train though, it'd be impossible to not mention "Night of The Lepus"... *cackles*
Hellraiser I actually still have to see, from what year was the original? The exorcist I have seen, the omen just sounds familiar, children of the corn I have seen.
Tim Burton's sleepy hollow I have seen as well, still trying to find the original I fear.
The Mangler you got me curious about xP
Trick R Treat I loved, especially the Sam scene, and Black Roses I now got curious about for the music. Oh the stereotypes at the time about rock & metal..
And oh god the giant killer bunnies, I still know that one @_@
They is DEFINETLY a must if you're looking to be afraid of the dark,
The Strangers is good if your looking for something scary that could actually happen.
Since your ok with older movies, my favorite horror movie is Nightmare on Elm street, then skip the second one and go straight to Nightmare on Elm Street 3:Dream Warriors.
The Scream series and Gothica are great Thriller movies. Scream if your looking for a good slasher movie, Gothica if your looking for something like the 6th sense.
There's too many to list, but if you send me a note or something on what your looking for specifically I can shoot you alot more movies.
