Are Russian porn sites visiting my website?

So I go to the handy little "Stats" page on my website (www.lookleft.us)
and I have a bunch of hits supposedly linked from various sites that end in .ru
Some appear to be selling couches, (the text is all Russian) but still others are hardcore porn sites.
Is this some kind of weird reverse spamming opperation where people check their traffic, see odd sites, and then go to them, thus breeding traffic for said sites?
Is this a well known practice that I am as of yet naive to?
Either way I find it very funny.
