Forming a podcast/webseries

Once upon a time...
I'm really wanting this to happen, but I don't know how well I'll do to start with. Would like to brainstorm with people. Contact me if you're interested in hearing about this.
Second of all, you'll need to settle on a method for podcasting. From what i've heard, most people use Skype, and then some third party program that records Skype calls (or whatever is coming out of your speakers in general). Most people will probably tell you to use Audacity for that, as it's free and simple to use. I have no experience with using it to record Skype conversations though, so you'll have to google for tutorials.
Finally, you'll need to settle on a format. Personally I recommend having a basic structure of at the least:
- "What was your favourite cartoon growing up."
- "What is your favourite modern cartoon."
- "What do you think about [insert current major trend here, i.e Bronies, Life in the Dreamhouse fans, Adventure Time fans, etc]"
Depending on who you're talking to, you may also want to add additional questions about the making of cartoons. For example, if you were to podcast with CaptainGerBear, you would probably want to ask him about some of his personal animations projects (like the one where Grant is dancing) as well as his involvement with Chainmail Bikini Squad. Another example, if you were interviewing Animan (creator of quite a few gay porn animations), you'd probably want to ask him about his 1960's influence.
I think the key thing is to not overcomplicate it, and to instead try and treat it like an active conversation. Podcasts and interviews work better in a casual and comfortable scenario, otherwise it will sound too dull and sterile. Highly recommend having a listen to some of Richard Herring's podcasts to see what I mean about how humorous and entertaining unscripted conversations can be.
