Well I successfully backed up the dying drive and copied it over to the new one without any issues. yay ^_^
It also seems to have fixed a periodic freezing issue I was having which I bet was also due to the failing drive.
Since the failed one was under warranty I will soon have a new 1.5 TB drive I won't need. Anyone want to buy it?
