That's extortion of the agreement. I see your point.... While you do "give it up easy" for that individual, that is based on the guidelines of the 'FWB' agreement. To utilize that for social status is just...well....shitty. Not to mention that it portrays you in a different light.

I think it's near impossible for both parties to NOT have feeling for each other at some point. You can try and avoid it but I think eventually one party will develop feeling for the other, even those feelings are not reciprocated.

Most of mine just ended because we just kinda got bored of each other. The last one did become my current relationship though.

I have had one FWB, it last two months. We were good friends before, we remain good friends afterward to this day. I find the trick is being clear about what you both want and if one starts to develop affection, it is far kinder to clearly tell them "No" than keep quiet and let them believe. It worked for me.

Not I personally but I know people who have. I think the oldest one I know is married, the couple are swingers so sex with friends never evolves past sex since they already have each other. And I suspect that barrier to entry keeps any FWB strictly friends.

I played third wheel in a couple relationships years ago, but later moved. I'd say that was pretty successful while I was there. I moved up here and sorta tried the same thing, and it didn't take too long to turn it into being more than just friends, but I like where it's going.

Mmmm Friendship is a relation ship... Or the basis of one. Where it grows from there is very hard to say. Besides I'm really the wrong person to answer right now...

Never seen a couple even manage to keep it that way. I mean, I'm not saying they all became exclusive, "The One!!" relationships, but I think it's natural to have feelings for someone when you share intimate things like playin' around.

My past experience with it, um...yeah. I'm like "was that a girlfriend?" I dunno if so and we're not together now and stuff but I cared a lot about her and still do and I know she does, too.

I think the thing is it's more like "I like you and really care about you, so let's have sex sometimes, but I don't want you to be 'my better half,'" which works out fine. Then what happens is when you have someone you DO actually get in a rel with, usually the FWB will understand and there will be no hard feelings. That's my experience and that's how it's seemed for most of the people I've known who had such things going on in their lives over the years.

If a rel comes of it, that's natural, too. I don't believe in love at first sight, so I think all good romantic relationships come from some period of "This is fun and I like being around this person" stuff, which is probably what the FWB part was.

To cut back on my rambling and be clear, what I meant was that it's healthy and natural to have feelings for the friend you're physically involved with. It just doesn't have to be the "I'm so in love with you and want only you" kind of thing.

Sex naturally leads to attachment. It's also why you see a lot of open relationships fall apart after a while.

You can't have sex with anything and not develop feelings. That's just simple brain chemistry.

Mmm but there's still a point where I think if it's a small circle and you develop 'attachment' it's not the same as the more jealous 'posessive feelings'.

I think it's possible to have a few friends, as long as it's not a big network, I'd admit I'd even get a little jealous if it started to leak out and be anyone.

I don't have any experience with that though so can't really say it from experience like some others have already in this journal. So they may have more basis for why/how. I just think it's mind-over-matter, and that if you go into it knowing all the details and everyone's trustworthy and honest, there could be no problems.

well.. can't tell.. haven't had one yet... .. but i know that i could not simply fuck someone without having (or developing) feelings. If one is craving for love because he or she never had a girl or boyfriend before, you will appreciate feelings a lot more than other people. Nuff said.

I did have a FWB relationship with a girl and she decided to end it a couple of months ago. I don't think either of us really wanted to end it, but for whatever reasons she decided to. In fairness, I don't begrudge her for it - things were complicated on her side, but I do miss seeing her. Thankfully we're still friends even if we don't chat as much as I would like.

I have had a LOT of FWB relationships and I can honestly say that the only times it has went wrong was when one person ended up wanting to be in a relationship with the other person from the get-go and just didn't admit it until later (and yes I have been the guilty one on quite a few of those times). But there was a time I was literally just friends with someone and we did have sex and it worked out great. Of course that was after I had already dated two of his buddies and had a threesome with him and one whom I had been dating, so we were already pretty familiar with each other, I didn't want to be in a relationship with him, and he saw that I was all about sex so that fit together perfectly although we don't talk any longer but we are still friends on Facebook. Didn't get ugly, no hard feelings, just kinda drifted off of contact.
