Women's sizing numbers are pretty much COMPLETELY ARBITRARY. Uuugh. Get a baseline of what sizes of clothes fit you. Know your waist and hips measurement. Wrap a tape measure around your chest too. Internet provides sizing charts to help you figure it out. While I've done lots of shopping in eBay, I have done department stores too. Just be super casual. Nobody cares, and nobody will say anything to you. If you're that self-conscious, just go to a store away from the places you work or live, so there's less likelyhood of being seen there.

[i]Yes. Its a way of feeling more feminine/girly which is done strictly for the benefit of *me*. Considering its probably been about 10 years since I went full time panties, I just find them to be comfortable generally. I prefer tighter, as looser or stretchy kinds tend to have a lack of 'control' which I dislike. I like bikini style generally, I do own some thongs and string bikinis, but the bikini type seems best. There's more to it as well, but a bit too personal to get into on a public forum :p If you're curious, send a note! :)

Honestly, most people aren't gonna care. And no one is going to actually say anything (maybe a look or two on the occasional chance). Just walk in there and start browsing. Most people are going to assume you're shopping for a girlfriend, sister, or if in your 20s or so, a daughter. Only times you do have to be careful is carrying your stuff into the men's changing room. X3

Sometimes. Mostly whenever dressing in girly clothes. They feel nice and they just feel more fitting when wearing girl clothes.
I find bikini's the most comfortable, but high-cuts, low-cuts, traditional, hipsters are all really comfortable. Boyshorts can be hit or miss, some are comfortable, and sometimes the same size that fit in a different style will be WAAAAAAAY too small.

I don't have any tips for going into a store and buying clothes. Going into a store has the advantage of trying pieces on before buying, but if you're like me you're not comfortable with actually going to a store and buy clothes. In that case, I'd say go online, but make sure you follow sizing charts and know your measurements because each place is different.

Find a female friend you can borrow clothes from to see what looks good before going out and buying some of your own. Also, subtlety goes a long way (unless you want to look like a drag queen).

2) as often as I can...but since I only have a few pairs I usually mix it up between skimpy male undies and panties. Why? I just like feeling fem in a way that only I know about. I like soft cotton...so comfy and snug.

Easiest way to go about buying in store is to go by this, who's to say its for you and not a gift? ;P Its one thing to get looks, but nobody ever questions anything. Employees just want your money and don't care who the clothes go to, while customers generally mind their own business seeing as they're shopping as well. Its truly nothing to be nervous about in the end.

well, I've even gone into the ladies' changing rooms..the problem I had was most female clothings are tight, and I'm quite big-boned (fat)..so usually I just hold it against my body to measure it then pay and go..for bra and panties..BRING A FEMALE FRIEND ALONG! XD

Start out with ordering online, or fibbing that its for your girlfriend. I'm way into racing & Nascar, and I managed to get a bunch of girl's size Clint Bowyer shirts when I was at the track in Sept 2011 by claiming it was for my girlfriend (couple working the merch hauler were a married and gave me mega discounts for saying it was for my girl (even tho it was for an ex x3 so now I have the girls' shirts to myself x3)

Don't think about what people are thinking. Usually, they won't even be paying attention. If someone DOES start looking at you crossways, laugh. A good sense of humor can help your confidence! Also, dare to be different!

Honestly, your best bet is to walk in wearing effeminate clothes. Store people, especially female and gay ones, know exactly what you are looking for. If you can make friends with some of the people at the stores you go to it would help to. i have found though, that woman in my town love helping cute guys find womens clothes to wear.

Shaving tips: Shave while hard. Shave with Shaving Cream, then again with Baby Oil.

Sizing tips: Measure your waist/hips beforehand, because women's sizes are very different than men sizes. And unfortunately there's not an algorithm/formula that converts to two accurately, so it's a bit of trial-and-error. If you see something, and put it to your waist, there's a chance that it'll fit well. But that's what changing/dressing rooms are for x3.

Just do it with confidence in honesty no one cares what your doing just get what you want dont be afraid to try things on and pay for it and leave. Just gotta go in and get it done! Remember your really dont care about them this is for you.

Have someone who can show you the ropes a little another femboy or a female or even ask for help on the internet, it helps to have a "Mentor" to teach you certain things and just have someone to generally talk to.

It's mostly about giving respect. It's okay to be scared and to be uncertain, (god knows I was when I first started,) but if you are genuine, and really respect the others who are there, and be mindful of that which each of them may or may not be ready to accept... I've found the store clerks and even the other shoppers to be so helpful and supportive. (Sometimes they even offer a _lot_ of helpful information, like they're just grateful to have someone they can help who actually _wants_ their help.)

Yes! While I wear regular shirts, I wear skirts, stockings, tights, and panties.

I do, but I have lost some weight and they might have been a tad too large even when I purchased them, so they likely are less comfortable than they would have been normally. My dong kept slipping free, but when it was secure against the fabric the panties felt comfortable. I am about to revert back to briefs (bought a new pair of mediums) to see how they feel compared to the somewhat oversized panties.

As for the panty type, I think they were cotton jersey tap panties from American Apparel, which seem to be a type of medium length and coverage.

Skirts! Skirts would be my overall favorite due to their aesthetical appeal and overall utility, with panties, stockings/tights, arm warmers, and crop tops being a close second.

Not sure what is being asked for precisely... If you mean the manner of acquisition, when I started purchasing feminine clothes, I went directly to American Apparel's store near here because I had no idea what would fit, and did the same when I was looking for shorts to wear under them (I need pockets and belt loops, but the skirt covers the shorts usually). However, I now only order online since I've obtained just enough clothes to know what should and shouldn't fit just by size category/measurements, and prefer to purchase something when it is on sale or I have been offered a promotional code.

Honestly, unless you're unlucky enough to run into some raging imbecile or you go into a religious clothing/thrift store, no one will care enough to object. Your orientation, gender identity, and crossdressing doesn't make your money any less valuable or usable. You help pay their salaries with your patronage, and that combined with the human tendency to avoid conflict face-to-face, disincentivizes them from being perceiveably disdainful. Customers are also on their own procurement mission and won't care enough to object.

If that's not enough reassurance, then go to a company which is unequivocally and overtly pro-LGBT. American Apparel is one such company. They're extremely open about their support for us. However, they compensate their workers well and they're all in America, so they can be pricey without sale conditions.

Don't be so fearful about being seen in feminine clothes publicly. I think I saw one or two others here normally crossdress and that's heartbreaking. I dress highly flamboyantly and effeminately by default. I even wear a tail under the skirt, and a shirt of my fursona on it. Even by femboi standards I attract attention because of the furry subcultural accessories and the furry leg warmers. I very rarely detect a derisive response, and I live in Cobb County, Georgia, a substantially conservative region.

I mean the best trick is to just not be super awkward I guess. Men go into those stores all the time to buy things for their girlfriends etc so if you act like you know what you're doing (Knowing the size of panties you wear for instance) works well.
