Yep, I did this after my really big blah-depressive thing.

You know what I actually didn't nuke anything, and feeling like I wasn't obligated actually helped me get through most o them. Weird. WHen I feel like I don't HAVE to do something, I have no problem doing it.

Eh, it's always nicer to hear responses to a response but there have been many times I've not been rep lied to, and I shrug it off; it's really not as big a deal as people make it out to be. I think online stuff works differently than in person, and you aren't as pressured to reply online as in person. Sometimes, there are comments that you may really feel need to be replied to but honestly, there's a lot that don't need it at all. I read comments, and while I try to reply to most, there are some that don't get replies. I used to feel that way about everyone's submissions.. that I needed to comment on all of my friends' submissions, all of them.. but then i didn't get the swarm of replies back so you know what I did? I reply to the ones that I honestly feel made a strong enough impression that I felt like remarking something aloud. I'm sure there are people that are pissed off at me for that, because I don't reply to all of their art but.. pff. I'm not here, posting as an artist, to give everyone else asspats on everything they post. If I see something and I like it, yeah! I'll comment on it.

I'm sorry,I probably was rambling, but yeah,, tl;dr is Don't worry about it. If people wanna get their panties in a kink, they will about something one way or another. Respond to the comments you feel compelled to reply to. It's just the internet, after all ;)

Yeah, I'm the same way about art comments. Usually I won't leave one unless I feel particularly strong about a certain piece. I like to think that my friends already know I like their art, instead of saying "I like this" on every single picture ya know? But I do try my hardest to reply to every comment I get. (Even if it's just "I like this.") I'll just put a smiley face or something, lol. Because I wouldn't want ppl to stop posting comments due to my lack of response, I love getting comments, even the three word ones, but if I miss a few days or don't stay on top of it, things can get overwhelming & I get to a point where I'm responding to things a week late. Sometimes I just need to hit reset, for my health!

What I do, is find a part of the week I can answer them all. I feel bad, but I can get an overwhelming amount of comments, notes, journals.. w/e so I feel yaaa

Yeah I feel badly but I have been doing that. People who post a lot of journals, or people I can't remember who they are, I unwatch. Over 100 new journals every day is just ridiculous. I miss journals from people I actually care about because I don't see them among the 500 pimping journals, seriously FA...filtering system! lol. But yeah, a lot of it has to do with my mood. If I don't feel like talking to anyone for a week (which often happens) then that's a week of comments built up, and that makes me feel even less like answering them, it's a vicious cycle. I think I'm getting it under control now though, until the cycle starts again I guess, lol.

I end up deleting stuff.

I just tackled my backlog of journals from during FF...FOUR PAGES. People posting about FF combined with ppl posting about the storm had a lot to do with it, but omg it took me like an hour just to find/read the ones I wanted to, & I still missed a bunch. I hope it dies down now that there's no big event to post about.
