Yeah, I was here for all of those too-- and Irene, last year. Sandy is only expected to have 60-75 mph winds, but there is a cold front coming down from Canada. That means we could get sleet, snow and freezing rain. And that has the potential of causing massive power outages and downing of trees. It might be a nothing storm, or it could be really bad. Meteorology is an inexact science. ;7

Have to agree with you. It's not just Sandy. You have to factor in that cold front coming in from the north. Could make things here (in Philly and its suburb) even worst than just Sandy alone, since we are in the line of fire no matter where its finally land.

Flooding is always a big problem, especially along the shore and in low-lying areas.

Well, they are certainly predicting that in some areas, including parts of Philly. I'm just glad I don't live near enough to any of them to be really affected. Only worry will be the wind.

All of where I live is a low-lying area, lots of shoreline. It could get bad. :\

Don't have to be low-lying. Some areas have poor drainage and, when hit by a large amount of water, it'll flood. And I know at least a couple of those inside Philly. As I'd said, I don't live near either to be affected.
