The collection system works as a sort of share system. Say if an artist uploaded a commission they did for me, they could offer to me as a collection, and it'd appear in my gallery but link to their page. Not that uploading the pictures yourself is against the rules! You can upload a commission you received and offer it up to the artist to add to their collection until they uploaded it themselves.

Or at least, that's how I think it works! I'll have to experiment. ^^

Thanks! I read through their explanation, but as it was five in the morning at the time I probably wasn't thinking as clearly as I ought. I'll have to do some experimenting, too, but just so long as uploading commissioned art there isn't going to get me banned, or upset the artists I commissioned, that's my major concern.

As long as you have permission from the artist everything should be okay. If what you want uploaded is by an artist already on the site, you could always ask them to upload it and offer it to you as a collection!

That being said, if there's anything I'd gifted you that you'd like to see up on the site, let me know and I'll send them to you as a collection! I've been having trouble deciding what to upload there.

There's been enough evidence on many discussion boards regarding the dark side of certain users already on weasyl and their actions towards furry artists that I have serious concerns about that site.

That and I have yet to see anyone (that hasn't already been banned from FA) saying they're leaving here. Have enough issues keeping up with two sites as it is...

Oh? I haven't heard anyone say anything about that. I've just seen people joining up, and when a friend offered me an invite I decided I'd have a look around. But that does sound rather worrying, to say the least.

I've seen a few people leave FA for reasons other than being banned. Some people have just gotten fed up with the admins or FA's periodic outages and abandoned it for InkBunny or Sofurry. But that's still pretty rare, I think. Like it or hate it, I don't think there's any doubt that, at least for the moment, FA is the major furry art gallery.

Watch what you post and send via private message. Been plenty of drama by a couple premium users regarding both, including reading said pm's they weren't a party to.

Please note, despite promoting primarily at fur cons, the owners claim it's open to everyone, i.e. DA 2.0. Expect drama once non-furs begin using the site.

Yikes. I tend to watch what I post here, as that's just common sense, but it sounds like their system isn't secure at all. I'll certainly have to keep that in mind, especially about the PMs.

As for it turning into another DA, that would be pretty disappointing. It sounds like a decent idea on paper, and it might be nice to see a wider variety of artwork, but I can only imagine the bitching and drama that would go on if that happens. All the more reason for me to stick with FA as my main site.
