Did you ever see the frightened ones?
Did you ever hear the falling bombs?
Did you ever hear the falling bombs?
I recently started reading a series of comics by a religious fur. I'm not going to post which ones specifically, but they have gotten me thinking about religion and where I personally stand.
I was born into a Catholic Family, and I am a confirmed catholic. Though since 2007, I haven't really practiced. I found it very difficult to lose my Grandmother to cancer that year, and I still have not recovered spiritually from that loss.
Additionally I have issues with some of the doctrine of the church, which no priests have been able to explain to me in terms that make any sense to me.
Example One, I am a Therian. What does that mean? It means that I believe that part of my soul is wolf. That is not to say that I am not 100% human, as I very much am. Think of it like having 150% of a soul, human and wolf together. I feel that God created me with this difference for a reason, but the church would disagree.
Another Example is with condemnation of homosexuals. Jesus preached love, and as such we should love each other regardless of our failings, we should not judge our fellow man as that is the dominion of God alone. Simply, Hate the sin, but not the sinner. Do not decry the sinner for his failings, help him to be better.
In all I find a lot of issues come when I contemplate my religion. Does that mean I plan to change it? No.
If one thing has been shown to me, it's that nothing is perfect when mankind gets involved.
Man is inherently corruptible. The scriptures may have been divinely inspired, but man is the one who put them to the proverbial paper.
What does this have to do with furry then? Well nothing really, but at the same time as Religion is on my mind, so to is Furry.
Furry to me is a great way to express myself, and it's also a point where I feel issues.
So often I have seen Furs give aide to those in need, helping many people and causes. Equally often I have seen Furs abuse.
I've seen the capacity for the Furry community to welcome people of any race, creed, age, whatever, and I have seen discrimination, drama, bullying, and more.
I guess what I mean is that Furs are only human. Well, at least under those fluffy coats, shiny scales, beautiful feathers, and more.
I've been very depressed lately, and Part of it is from Furry, Part of it is from Religion, and Part of it is just Life. I've contemplated quitting all of them, but in the end, I wouldn't give up any of it.
Thanks you fine Fuzzy things. Maybe some day I can pay it back.

I feel that I am me, but at the same time I,m not... I think why many in the church our so hard is becuse who and what you are is really up to you and you alone.
I wish people could be more forgiving, I thought that when I first found furrys maiby they would be different, but just like hippies and the rest of the world everyone hates what is different to them and people that don't think like them.
I have accidents from time to time and preafer the term baby fur then I found real hate in the comunity that kinda struck deep coming from some raelly out there people saying they hate this or that... would you hate a cripple for being different?
People never change, the only thing you can even kind of control in life is you.
Hugs, hang in there bud theres always good times with the bad :)
I wish I had an answer for you on the Therian question. I personally have had some experience with the Therian culture, even suspecting that I might be one myself at one point. I however concluded that I was merely trying to fit in and was not being honest with myself, mistaking an affection for a deeper connection.
I will pray for your Grandmother and your family.
