Congrats on making us look pathetic...

There are a lot of Ranger fans from 2010 that were saying the same thing. I gotta say the Giants within this window have one of the best pitching staffs the game has ever seen. It's crazy to look at guys like Cain and Lincecum and think that this win may have brought them into HOF consideration when they retire. Hell even Barry Zito has to get some consideration given he has two rings and a former Cy Young winner. All that without Melky too. Granted it's hilarious they had home field advantage because of him and probably would've lost the division to the Dodgers if they didn't have him early in the season helping them win games.

After 2010 I though Ron Washington was just an idiot of a manager with the way he got burned in five games by the Giants, but after this I have to say Bruce Bochy is a brilliant manager, He's been to three world series since 1998 and won two of those especially when making bold moves with his rosters. The Tigers hitters looked really impatient out there too. Way too many strikeouts with guys trying to hammer the pitches they thought they saw. That one I leave on the Tigers coaching staff along with the third base/home fiasco with Fielder getting tagged out at home. Too many poor decisions all around.

Upside for the Tigers is they still play in a very winnable division, while the Giants could very well not make the playoffs next year with the Dodgers trying to turn into Red Sox west. Can't dismiss Arizona entirely either since they were the defending division champs this year. They could come back strong next year.

Yeah, well we tend to let hangovers get to us though...

After 2006, that's when Dombrowski went after a ton of talent (including Cabrera) and added to the roster. I think we started the year by losing our first seven games and never recovered, finishing last in the division. Plus, the White Sox and Indians have both shown spurts of being a soon to be contender. Granted, I'd count the Indians out for another year now that they're changing managers.

So we'll see if we can get back. Illich has to be heart broken to pay so much for Fielder to see him tank in the series like that.
