So, apparently Disney has plans on buying Lucasfilm Ltd from George Lucas and, get this, plan on releasing Star Wars: Episode VII sometime 2015.
Being a major Star Wars nerd, I really don't know what to think.
George Lucas would be used as a consultant. At least he wouldn't be able to do what he did with the prequel trilogy.

People usually forget that Empire Strikes Back, which a lot of people think to be the best of the Star Wars films, was not directed by George Lucas, and the screenplay was not written by George Lucas. He just wrote the story and was on as an executive producer.
So I'll be cautiously optimistic as well and see what happens.
Although, this COULD be good depending on what they do with it.

With Disney in charge, it can only get more "kid and family-friendly" in the style of the Clone Wars animated CGI series.
Don't know what to think about that deal, to be honest.
I don't think they will ever show stuff like the famous Thrawn-Trilogy, or the Mandalorian-Wars or the Yuuzhan Vong-War, because it would be too "brutal" for kids.
Time will tell what will become of the galaxy far far away.
Not necessarily; Disney will most likely respect the franchise.
Disney did buy out Marvel, however they aren't suddenly making every super hero with the "Disney Image". Take Deadpool's upcoming Video Game for instance(link) - That is very NOT Disney Image.
I mean they do incorporate their franchise with the Star Tours ride and the "Jedi Training Academy" show they have at their theme parks.

People we're freaking over the whole Marvel buy out - and last time I checked Deadpool isn't suddenly wearing Mickey Ears ( Although that would fit Deadpool's motif really well... )
