Would you melt? o.O
*gives you a big dragon hug*
Another question: What about being a goo-creature (for lack of a better phrase I know of) is appealing to you? I've seen a few like you around and about FA, and the concept intrigues me. I wonder if there's anything deeper to it than "just fun to try"? I ask because fat, size difference, muscle, even hyper have deeper... reasons behind them than just "it's hawt." Though that's kind of a big reason, don't get me wrong. x3
And as for goo, there's a weird couple of reasons for me, some of them may make no sense at all :P
- I just find it awesome in concept to be alive with no organs
- Kinda related to the above, but, no need for a whole system of homoeostasis(sweating to cool down) or cellular reproduction in growth etc, the whole complex things of the organic body. It's all fantasy but it's simple when you're goo :P
- The idea of being transparent, which I think stems from the balloonie/living balloon form I have too, something again I suppose is just appealing about being transparent in either form so, makes it fun to be goo :P
- You'd be able to surpass many problems such as room and space problems like locked doors, barred windows, restraints, blocked entrances etc
- You also get to be kinda, um, almost like a ballarina dancer in motion, kinda curving and swaying and swinging, just rising out of goo flat on the floor, the complete control over your own body I guess hehe.
- The way how you can also get people inside or things inside, despite the awkward shape of a snake limiting what clothing I could wear, inside storage is always an option :P
And at the same time, the vulnerability of the form to certain things that would otherwise just be uncomfortable, I guess one major factor that's always been one thing I loved in TF, is the "awkwardness of the situation" factor, being limited to not being able to carry something heavy because it'd just fall through or like, if in a furry world, taurs didn't exist but you were suddenly a taur, the social reaction to it, the awkwardness of going about daily life in a bipedal world. That sorta helps make my imaginary world a bit more unique or helps me to see it from a more fun view I guess :P
Wow... see, I had a feeling there was more to it! I hadn't even thought of a couple of those, like being unable to lift things that are too heavy because it would pass through. I admit, I can't help thinking of all the other... intimate *coughs* things a goo-person can do, but that's just me being a perv. x//3
I also like that you see it well beyond a sexual thing, and actually look at practical applications for one's goo-ey self... or impractical consequences of being a goo-person.
Oh my goodness, you just describe that factor so well! I really enjoy the "awkwardness of the situation" factor, a ton, though I never used that phrase before. Like... it's so much more interesting when physical or other unique aspects a character has makes them... stand out. Like a hyperfur being an anomaly in a furry world, or a werewolf trying to live a normal life (cliche example, I know x3 ), or someone being enormously, impossibly muscled or fat, being able to thrive in that state, but standing way out because of it, and having to deal with that. Or, heck, a furry in a human world, period.
Even Rito has that factor - he's a walking, living fertility idol, of sorts, and he can accommodate... just about anyone, of any... size, and somehow they can sense that. He's also unusually feminine in shape and in badonkadonk x//3 I like to put him in situations where all of this is unusual, and he has to deal with it. Granted, often he seems to run into folks who are quite piqued by his... assets.
In non-porn story-writing, though, I also enjoy that factor. A story is just so much interesting when the main character has something odd or unusual or extraordinary about them, and the story is very compelling when the other is very creative about how they cope with that, and how others around them cope. It can very easily become cliche, but it has potential to make many more great stories still.
Sorry if I rambled too much. x3 Thank you for your thorough, well-thought-out answer! =3
But yeah I think you put it in a nutshell in the end for me lol, the character with one "odd" thing about them, not just a small odd thing :P
The top part of FA, the My Fa> Security, Notes, Journals, Site Settings etc, it's all a bit more simple over there and in my opinion, FA condensing the options like that only gets annoying when you actually want to find your site settings or write a journal lol.
I just wish it wasn't invite only or donation only.
I do think it will keep going, it's got an interesting way of dealing with duplicate art. I think it shares the same upload so it's visible in 2 people's galleries but only shows up in search from the uploader or something. But yeah you can upload your own art, but you can also upload art done for you if there's conditions met such as that the artist doesn't exist on the site or doesn't want or have the submission shown in their gallery that they did for you. Or you can upload the same as long as it's set so your friends can only view it, in order to save on wasted resources of the site.
It's kinda fresh and new like SoFurry now that SF has gone modern and live and out of beta. I think it's gonna stick around as a good alternative, quiet but not as quiet as like, Inkbunny or something which IMO, the user interface and navigation for that site, was pretty confusing.
I'm not hearing or reading anything about folders though. So I guess everything is all still in one lump gallery or scraps area.
I didn't read anything in the upload policy that I think will affect me, so I don't think any of my content will be an issue. So it's probably the first alternate gallery I'm leaning towards posting on when it goes public.
Now I just have to make new content.
I don't have a weasle and have not been invited... please?
