I still dunno about Weasyl. I barely understand FA and having to learn ANOTHER website? UGH. And transferring all my artwork over there? Double ugh.

I have no intention of transferring everything. Best and brightest, definitely, and then anything new.

I am getting kind of curious too. Not quite so much yet that I feel the need to get on the beta, but when it goes live I'll probably sign up.

I think that's the single-most reason I've heard to sign up early.

It's looking interesting, but there's a couple of niggling points about it. Nanimoose was posting about them in his journal recently.

I see his point, and would like that addressed.. but I can live with the smaller display size, the full res is just one click away.

as with any new art site, I wait a good 6 months to see if there's any lasting traction before trying it out. I've seen WAY too many "FA Alternatives" pop up and die almost immediately that it's hard to get excited about any new ones.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm by no means pulling up stakes and moving over full-bore, just poking at it and seeing what it's got. I'm no code monkey, but all my code monkey friends are raving about how everything is working.
If nothing else, it's a complimentary gallery. I'm just wondering what has everyone pissed off at FA THIS time. Not enough to do any research on it, but enough to pose the wonderance aloud.

Furs don't make sense. I don't think people are mad at FA because a new site opened, I think it's another sample of a site opening because people are mad at FA.. or something. Or maybe it opened on its own, and people got mad at FA independently and decided for migration. Who knows! It is a MYSTERY! OoooOOOOooooh! Okay maybe I got my Halloween on a bit too hard there.

I think it's just that users are finding furaffinity in general to be unsatisfactory. The rumors of bad admins and poor organization tools is what made me decide I would like an alternative.

I did see in their FAQ something about promises of codes of conduct for their mods. I can only assume that's part of it, I've heard people complaining about FA mods as long as there have been mods on FA.

Yeah. It's hard to avoid complaints about mods regardless of how well they do their job. I just have REALLY wanted a folder system for my stuff. It's really divided between, kinky weird stuff, and innocent stories, so it would look better if they weren't sitting side by side.
To avoid reposted art from a commissioner and the artist (which is very common here), they have a collection system where the commissioner takes the artist's submission and adds it to their collection like a psuedo-submission.
Also I found out they have a section devoted to character profiles. That's pretty cool.

I've been messing with the latter. I had to submit mine like three times before it stuck, but there it is.
The folder system should be pretty groovy too. I know it can be jarring looking through certain galleries and seeing cute innocent shenanigans right next to.. other stuff.
